her album is getting 9k units daily from streaming alone, she would be dumb to end the era now :jonny5:

and she is able to sell pure copies too.

The second coming of Taylor. A streaming force. An album seller. Next up: a touring force :jonny5:

Who knows for sure

what I know now is bille is hot today will she be next year? Or do we have a new alt lorde

billie's era is serving taylor swift levels of management and billie had a huge big enough fanbase to get 800k people to pre-order her album on apple music and still sell 170k pure copies and she is also touring 18k arenas. she already got a loyal fanbase. lorde didn't have a fanbase. it was just loud gays.

Ariana releases album after album without properly investing in an era. They fizzle out and blend together.

Well in her defence, the SweeTUNer era should be treated as one era with two albums and 6 singles. They share the same tour, they had the same visuals and were released within one year. There's no surprise they blend together because they are supposed to.

well, to be fair, a part of the reason she sold that much is because she is a touring force since she had a tour bundle

only the 2 most interesting artists of 2019 dominating :clap3:

The best-selling album of the year isn't even at 1.8M yet? :deadbanana4:

The death of pure sales has made it a lot harder to reach big figures. Its way harder to get there in the strenght of streaming only

I wonder why, though - it's so easy to get single certifications now, yet so hard to go Gold with your album. I guess people mostly stream 2-3 famous songs and the rest's figures contribute little to the total.

Certifications include Youtube tho. Billboard album units dont. But either way you need 3 Billion US streams for 2M units. Its like, a LOT to ask for!

Talent lost but luckily Taylor is about to take over. :clap3: So all is good again.

Omg remember in early 2017, where there were no females in the top 10. Look at them now, (with Taylor) the top 3 will be all female.

Post Malone will probably have the year end #1 album if Adele doesn’t release

Single certifications are done by the RIAA which includes YouTube streams and counts them the same as paid streaming even though they are nearly worthless by comparison.

SPS does not count YouTube (or if it does, it is a a very reduced amount which is nearly negligible).

And you're right about the people listening to their faves the most, it has always been like that, however, now if someone wants to contribute 1 sale to equal one digital single sale they would have to listen to the song 150 times (which is semi reasonable), but if they want to contribute to 1 sale of an album with that song they have to listen to it 1500 times, which is unrealistic, especially in a short time.
