Artpop & Joanne barey scanned Platinum despite going #1. Now Rihanna having the most Multi-Platinum albums of any female artist this century (7) is a HUGE kii. Clock them again! 11 hours ago, cityfolk said: Yet there are multiple album tracks with over 100M+ streams on Anti that weren't heavily playlisted, sent to radio, promoted, etc. ??? So obviously people are using the whole album. If you took out the 4 singles, the album would still have like 600M+ streams if not more (I can't be bothered to do the math). Over 900m streams, the most for any female album released ever.

You tried, and you failed. ? the gays be mad Rihanna is listened to by every Group of People instead of just gays like Gaga or Madonna

First week sales are still extremely important and show the artists power, how much PULL they have and how big of a fanbase they got. 6 not 7. First week sales don't necessarily show the artist's power, it all depends on how crowded and competitive the week is. Half of Rihanna's albums were released in November aka the most crowded season in the pure sales era. Her only album released post-Umbrella that wasn't released in Q4 was Good Girl Gone Bad, which missed the #1 spot by only 9K copies. "Teenage Dream" debuted at #1 with 190K yet "Loud" & "Talk That Talk" debuted at #3 with 207K & 198K (respectively). "Cheek To Cheek" debuted at #1 with 130K yet "Good Girl Gone Bad" debuted at #2 with 162K & "Rated R" at #4 with 181K. An album selling in the long run, going Multi-Platinum after missing the #1 spot, is a lot more impressive than an album debuting at #1 then stalling and barely scanning Gold or Platinum years later.

The vast majority of pre-2019 albums on the BB200 are charting solely due to streams that specific songs/singles are currently receiving, and the newly released albums are being heavily pushed by SEA. What the hell are you talking about? As it should. Imagine not counting SEA and TEA for albums in 2019 nnn. The only problem is that for year-end and decade-end charts (mostly Top Artist and Artist Of The Decade), streams and single sales end up being double counted since they're included on both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200, which paints an unaccurate portrait and benefits certain artists over others

Wow, Gaga was always a powerful artist and she's been always bigger in album sales, even at 2014 with her jazz album she sold as much as Rih during her peak, and I think even Anti did a smiliar numbers to C2C

I honestly think that was just the industry punishing her - no way should or would a rule change have gone through if Britney wasn't the one releasing that week. Also Rihanna fans need to calm down #1 album that week sold like 4 times more, and stayed in top 10 for months, that album still deserved to go #1...
