Receipts girl? When did I say Chun-Li flopped? I'm one of the few who actually  defended the song and said it was a hit ( which it was) I think your delusions are getting the best of you.

Arent you the same girl didnt know what era their fave started their first tour...since were on delusions?  :rip:

It's one of the... 4 (?) good songs she's had as a lead artist.

It won't smash cause the hook is a little... rough. It'd work on a different production, but it doesn't quite fit here, for me.

Could be a Money type moderate hit though, we'll see. If the video is released on a Friday, she's guaranteed a top 20 peak

Yah the teens are already hanging on to it so itll be fine.

The sophomore slump is kinda real. I wish it wasn’t happening but the signs are all there tbh ?

Money ruined her, imo. The whole thing was such a mess. It didn't feel like a new era, didn't feel like a huge launch, it felt like a throwaway. And it sounds like a throwaway.

And Please Me/Press have had confusing releases from there. Who knows if there's an album? What's actually happening?

She should have milked IoP more then came back later this year with proper pop/rap bops, not whatever crap she's serving right now.

3 years? That’s a little liberal.  Lol.  BY went #1 in Sept 2017 no?  We’re not even in Sept 2019 yet.

I like the song but it doesn't sound mainstream enough to be another huge hit for her

Yeah it went #1 in October 2017 I think. But no female rapper sold more than Cardi in 2017. Or 2018. Or 2019. That's what they meant.

Yall wish yall favourite female rapper could flop with 3xPlatinum top 20 hits like Cardi does according to yall :dies: bunch of losers

And no female sold more than Nicki for almost a decade. Cardi already declining hard after one era, that's sad huh. Won't be long til you all abandon her for the next successful female

The delusional Barbz circlejerking in this thread :dies:

It's doing fine for a hard rap song because that's what it is. I guess Barbz aren't used to rappers putting out songs that were made for actual hip-hop listeners and radio because they're so used to goofy garbage that doesn't even hit the Bubbling Under and only takes off with gays making memes on Twitter.

Girl you put so much in that run on sentence and it still didn’t make sense. Nicki has had several rap hits, thank you.

OT: The song is basically demo format. Idk why it has taken since December to release a 2 minute song that sounds exactly like it did in that IG snippet - a mess. Nobody wants this after her label curated a consistent debut album. Maybe switch from Offset to Yachty to write Cardi’s songs? Yachty writes Bhad Bhabie’s tracks and honestly her songs go harder than Cardi’s.

I know what they meant, my point is...it’s a stretch to make her reign seem much longer/stronger lol.

Im not saying she’s doing bad commercially, but she’s not flying high and strong like late 2017 either.  So saying she’s reigned for 3 years is a bit misleading. Especially when no other comparable commercial female rapper is out other than her and Nicki and Nicki is on hiatus.  Of course she’s the best selling, lol.  But if you’re comparing Cardi to CARDI she’s underperforming compared to HER average.

But we’re getting OT, because quality of music was my main complaint...not her sales.   Cause that can always turn around quickly.  But I had to address the 3 year comment lol.

And in a matter of two years Cardi has topped everything Nicki managed to do and in a matter of a year or two she will pass ole girl in record sales. Why even mention Nicki? Cardi is STILL the top selling female MC this year, even with her flops. And when we look at the numbers, they're not even close. So why even mention Nicki, a bigger flop than Cardi at the moment, just so you can time travel to the past just to get clocked in the present?:deadbanana2:

I didn't mention Nicki. YOU did.

Posted

Well that's a shame cause this song SLAPS.

This, Chun-Li, Good Form, Kream, and Started deserve #1. I want to see more rap girls on top.

First of all Nicki is a former pop star. Her first two albums were pure pop. 90% of all her stats as female rapper comes from her pop singles and pop collabos. Thats why its so comical seeing Nicki stans talking about hip hop lmfao. Yall used to stan Lady Gaga. :rip:

Now if we focus on her rap hits, Nickis success is very, very mediocre. Money is more successful than any rap song ever released by Nicki. Now thats sad huh.

And Ive been stanning cardi since before you even knew who she was.

She's a rapper. You may not like her pop infusion that made her stop popular, but she's still a rapper.

Why does ATRL keep doing this? Lol.  Rap wasn’t as mainstream as it is now (hence why Cardi’s rap songs are charting higher and have stronger numbers than Nicki’s rap songs).  Nicki literally ended a drought for female rap.  There is NO comparison.  Cardi debuted in a total different climate (streaming, new certifications, Trap running mainstream radio, etc).
