scenekiller Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Good, it's the lowest common denominator of pop and it doesn't deserve much more than that.
HausofLeos Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Do any of yall even know she hasn't broken into the US yet?? Smh her main market is in Europe
Newt Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 This is a consequence of streaming taking over. We are going to see an increasingly divided industry where artists will only be successful in a specific area and only a handful will see overall success. This isnt new but I definitely think it will get worse

So very local. Edited March 28, 2017 by Kissing You

paulyyyozd Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I mean.... no shade, but what was exactly her target? Like who actually was supposed to buy this album? Her name has 0 power or recognition, same with her image, no strong fanbase, etc... She's a Carly Rae Jepsen, with a little less quality to her music and a little smaller hit No surprise to these numbers.

Stmated Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 (edited) I have no idea what sales are supposed to be. I just know that personally I have never bought a single album in my whole life. Before Spotify, I downloaded the music from Napster or similar. I've never understood why you'd want a cumbersome damn disc lying around, and not being able to play it anywhere you want on your phone. I hope album sales die completely and go hide wherever VHS tapes ended up. But I guess the numbers are not good, but by some accounts not bad for a debut. I guess the real result will be seen in half a year when we can see if there's a streaming impact. Edited March 28, 2017 by Stmated

h-dragon Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Poor Zardines, they really thought Zara is the next big thing
Stmated Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 (edited) 13 minutes ago, h-dragon said: Poor Zardines, they really thought Zara is the next big thing I am pretty sure nobody thought it would sell a lot. All of Zara's fans knew a debut album that's delayed 2 years, almost released 3 times, with 5 songs already released and 3 more maybe heard, would not sell well at all. The fans have only cared about the streaming, which has been going well. Now if that's because we're trying to grasp onto something and being delusional, or if these are regular numbers for debuts of new popgirls in a streaming age, I don't know yet. I guess we'll see how acts like Dua does as comparison. But for certain, at least none I've seen expected high sales numbers, especially not in the US. Oh, and I will choke you in your sleep (in the kindest way possible, of course) if you call Zara's fans that. Edited March 28, 2017 by Stmated
