REM is definitely one of Ariana's best.  The instrumental and song structure are very non-conventional, though it takes intelligent ears to recognize that.

#30. In My Blood - Shawn Mendes

Another unpopular choice here. I have no idea whether Shawn's self -titled album was well-received by ATRLers and whether In My Blood is everyone's type of a lead single. But this one was a grower for me. At first, I was like, "wow, he's not into that pop pop" but then everyone sounds so not mainstream at first listen so I wasn't sold instantly. After every other listen, I grew to appreciate the track more and more. The video was stunning too, which made this one to be a sort of required Best Of entry for me.

#29. Always Remember Us This Way - Lady Gaga

Okay, the 2nd best ASIB track makes it to the Top 30! Well, all the 4 songs in here are all quality and every other tracks deserve to be in here. More commentaries about ASIB is up for  the last entry. Soon.

#28. Want You Back - 5 Seconds of Summer

The best 5SOS single of the year for me. Well, Youngblood is the safer, more popular choice, but I choose the less popular one. Well, Youngblood is a 10/10 so that's not much of a difference. WYB, while different from their pop punk beginnings, still has the old taste into it, that makes it edge out Youngblood a bit.

#27. Malibu Nights - LANY

First of all, I wish LANY would get more recognition in the US. :alexz: This one made me tear up a bit when it came out. I was having all those negative mindset those times of the year and then it came out when it was relatable as hell. Damn personal, emotion-filled, and transcendental track. Deserved of its Top 30 placing.

#26. My My My! - Troye Sivan

All the pre-2018 Troye songs aged quite badly for me, but Bloom was a SERVE and I am sold at first contact. My My My! And it's shiver-inducing video was so amazing (for the lack of a better adjective) and as such, I must say I love this song to bits, making its placement unquestionable.

#25. Love Lies - Khalid & Normani

This collab was random for me, and I did not believe the potential of the match-up, but I'm glad Khalid & Normani proved me all wrong with Love Lies. The song was one of the biggest growers in my life. At first listen I was like wtf, but after like a week, the song did a 180 twist and sounded like a pure bop! Amazing track, Normani served and I can see a successful solo career with a proper push and Khalid was good too.

#24. Venice Bitch - Lana del Rey

Okay, you may have been tugged by Mariner's Apartment Complex but Venice Bitch was truly on another level. Wow. I'm lost in words. But, hey, that means this slays.

#23. High Horse - Kacey Musgraves

Here we are, Queen Kacey made a very strong album and slayed with single choices. High Horse is like the cherry on top of everything she served. A whole complete bop that would be a pride in other artists' repertoir!

#22. Dancing - Kylie Minogue

Y'all may say that Kylie may have done better, but this song and the entire album saved 2018 for me up to some extent. This work showcased god-tier production styles and Kylie distinctive vocals were tastefully emphasized making it stand out.

#21. Rose-Colored Boy - Paramore

I wish this accomplished what Ain't It Fun reached. :sosad:  RCB was the poppest sound they can hear with After Laughter. Also, the video was their MV with the higest replay value. I wasn't so shocked about hw it ended though, the GP served little taste in 2018, so that. In a better US though, this would've been their 2nd Top 10 and Grammy-winning hit. Smh.

Yes girl preach! The way everyone dumps Pharell Williams while he brought us the Touch It of Sweetener aka REM is so sad :fan:

APESHIT is such a bop! Slow Burn, Thru These Tears, and This is America also solid tracks.

I need to check out more from Tove Styrke, as of now I've only heard Say My Name.

Yes, I also plan to discover Tove Styrke more this year! Let's discover together.
