potent Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Finesse and Curious are bops If I could remake my list I'd probably place Finesse within the top 20 too. Love It If We Made It is good but I really think The 1975 could've done better this year. Hunger made it very high on my countdown Doesn't Matter is great, but Girlfriend is better
Dom Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 thank u , next is a bop, we like it, not the best ari song, but w/e. one kiss is such a bop, dua snapped. without me is halsey's 2nd best song after colors.
Eeveelution Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Hunger (her best song this year), Curious, Doesn't Matter.
Remmy Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Most Played: thank u, next already this high She's a cute one, kinda overrated though. Main Chart: One Kiss Finesse (Original) A mega bop Quote Haha, I think that might be your first taste of KPop excellence ARUTW is GOAT I'm frustrated by how low I put it... Gorl I've listened to K Pop songs before, you think I've been ignoring it for no reason? Yeah it should've definitely been higher But I'm not judgin'
TayRianaPH Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 EXQUISITE 100 Songs of 2018 [My graphics not uploading, will edit it later] #10. God Is A Woman - Ariana Grande Okay, this one might not be everyone's favorite but it is borderline iconic if you ask me. The title of the song alone is already intriguing, I can't believe Ariana among all pop stars was the brave one to dare the GP with such a risky concept. I'm just glad she's faced weak backlash for this. The MV was phenomenal, I thought that it would have had the buzz that thank u, next have got, but with its concept I wasn't shocked that the GP didn't jump into it big time. Lastly, the VMA performance was one of Ariana's best executed performance, I am still astounded by it to this day. Overall, I believe that Ariana fired this bullet in the perfect time. Not as a lead 'cause it might have bigger backlash, but as a 2nd single. Glad she hit Top 10 with this well-deserved one, but it could've been better.
TayRianaPH Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 EXQUISITE 100 Songs of 2018 [My graphics not uploading, will edit it later] #9. thank u, next - Ariana Grande Another Ariana in the Top 10! This time it's the #1 hit we, Arianators, are all proud of. Aside from the digital success, this song brings to the table Ariana's signature chill and easy-listen songs. The simple yet addictive production got every fan and the GP addicted. It's actually no surprise that the GP pushed this one even without the MV. The lyrics itself is interesting and it felt like it her most personal song yet. With the addition of an MV, a perfect pop song came into fruition. I just love that this happened in Ariana's career, hoping she'd continue with it 'cause she definitely deserves it.
TayRianaPH Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 EXQUISITE 100 Songs of 2018 [My graphics not uploading, will edit it later] #8. Youngblood - 5 Seconds of Summer The chart breakthroughs for some artists in 2018 were definitely deserved. 5SOS hitting Top 10 for the first time may seems like a dream come true for any fan, now I'm just so happy they did it! Personally, Youngblood is not my best 5SOS lead single, but it's success made it better and more essential to their career. The song is the type of song that takes a long long time for someone to grwo weary of it, it just clicks even after many listens, a sign of a good pop song.
Green Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Youngblood is one of their best songs Thank u next and God is a woman are also good.
TayRianaPH Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 EXQUISITE 100 Songs of 2018 [My graphics not uploading, will edit it later] #7. No Tears Left to Cry - Ariana Grande The perfect Sweetener lead single choice for Ariana if you ask me, tho many would surely not agree. The intro for the MV, while not part of the song, ended many careers. It highlighted Ariana's vocal and the gorgeous MV can't be any better. A perfect package for a strong lead single, the timing of things were the only problems, but I ain't bothered.
TayRianaPH Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 EXQUISITE 100 Songs of 2018 [My graphics not uploading, will edit it later] #6. High Hopes - Panic! At The Disco Another chart breakthrough, this time my ultimate favorite rock band Panic! At The Disco. Yes, I agree to others in saying that P!ATD had better siingles, but this one grow in importance for me as it re-introduced P!ATD to the public. It is my ultimate feel-good, positive song and I play it everytime I need motivation, it just keeps me going. The composition is so public-friendly + it's hard to get weary of too. Congrats, P!ATD!
