Lazuli Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Salt In the Wound, Driving Down to LA, District, Goya Soda
Kiss It Better Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Disclosure's 5 new songs this year was good but none of them have grown on me yet Python is cute, better than some of War & Leisure songs
MP2K Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I missed out on Gavin, will have to check her out again. Sticky, Goya Soda, bless ur heart
Uncatena Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Love Can Be So Hard is probably my least favorite of the Disclosure songs this year, but it still slaps a lil bit so work Goya Soda WHEW one of my faves on the album, when i first heard it i was unsure, but know i SCREAM everytime it comes on.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 27, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 27, 2018 re: your comment. I've heard of Les Sins but never listened! Maybe I should. This update has so many bops. Goya Soda, Sticky, Your Biggest Fan, Make it Forever, Whitney, Love Can Be So Hard Glad someone recognizes Goya as one of the best from Chris.
Tom Vercetti Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 this big batch disclosure, george, serpent, earl, rayvn songs are my favorite. I haven't heard of Rome Fortune in a while.

Pink Matter Posted December 28, 2018 Author Posted December 28, 2018 Songs of 2018 50-31 50) Choker|Starfruit LA One of the few times he doesn't sound like Frank O on the album. Give me more of this king. 49) First Aid Kit|Fireworks I like the kinds of songs where the production of the song sort of conflicts with the vocal performance/lyrics of the artist. It has a very celebratory and triumphant vibe to it while the vocals and the lyrics are much more somber. 48) Caroline Rose|More of the Same To Caroline it might just be more of the same thing, but this here has some great, interesting production that couldn't be more different to the current pop landscape in mainstream music. A nice treat to start off her album. 47) Ssion|Dogs on Asphalt (feat. Melissa Burns, Contessa Stuto, and Jennifer Herrema) There's like 3 songs stuffed into this one song and it manages to work. An incredibly dynamic song. 46) Swae Lee|Offshore (feat. Young Thug) The renegade is real. This should really be Young Thug (feat. Swae Lee). 45) Nao|Saturn (feat. Kwabs) One of the few standouts on Saturn, this hit all the right marks. I love a good R&B duet 44) ODIE|Faith A vibe! This always gets me moving. Love an afrobeat bop 43) Ariana Grande|no tears left to cry All hail the princess of pop! Her best single to date. thank u, next found dead in a ditch. 42) Rae Morris|Reborn The beat knocks way too hard for a pop song but I love it. The buildup of tension to sudden drops are nice highlights but her voice just takes it the extra mile. It's filled with confidence and power! 41) Travis Scott|STOP TRYING TO BE GOD Travis may be a talentless hack and a sellout, but at least he knows how to "curate" songs. 40) VanJess|Control Me so seductive, so sexy 39) DJ Koze|Baby (How Much I LFO You) So many layers to unpack with this song. It has all of these weird elements that could be bad on their own but work when they come together. Another dynamic entry to my countdown, this is the kind of song that'll never get old for me. 38) Kilo Kish|Elegance Love this bold new direction Kilo's taking with her sound. The production is the main highlight with Kilo playing backup to it, but with a beat like that who can blame her? 37) Anderson .Paak|Anywhere (feat. Snoop Dogg & The Last Artful, Dodgr) Poor all the Bubblin' stans. The G-Funk inspired production was a nice change of pace and the fact that this is one of the few songs where Andy's singing on the album makes this a standout track on Oxnard. It's also pretty romantic And work @ Snoop putting out a solid verse too. 36) Maxo Kream|Work Trap + a good rapper= a concept Love the beat switch too. 35) Kendrick Lamar|X (feat. Saudi, ScHoolboy Q, and 2 Chainz) Not much to say tbh. Just a well crafted rap song. Everybody did their thing. 34) Starchild & The New Romantic|Can I Come Over? Honestly, the lyrics are suuuuper disjointed and kinda don't make sense but the production is immaculate so idc. 33) Kadhja Bonet|Mother Maybe One of the few upbeat songs on Childqueen, Mother Maybe injects some much needed life into the album. The scatting at the end of the song is not only a highlight but a huge kii too. 32) Denzel Curry|TA13OO Say what y'all want about the album, but the title track is a banger! 31) Natalie Prass|Sisters I love it when I see women supporting other women. #feminism This is also some peak white girl funk

theblackestday Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 pretty sure Fireworks is the only First Aid Kit song I've heard but I love it I'm an ORMH, but Reborn is great and easily my favorite from her album. The Caroline, DJ Koze, Anderson, and Kendrick songs are all great, but NTLTC is my fave here Ariana snapped. GIAW outsold by a tiny bit but both are way better than thank u, next so tea Great set.

Fireworks kinda the best song on the album so you're not totally missing out. asffghjkl the way everyone turned on her, she lowkey was an early AOTY favorite but glad you recgonize talent. And she did, she sure did. no tears is fresh and vibrant while Giaw is cute but a tad generic
Blue Rose Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 DJ Koze and Rae Morris started listening to Koze last night. I didn’t know he was responsible/influenced so many of my faves songs.
MP2K Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 More of the same, Stop trying to be god, NTLTC, Sisters, Control Me
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 28, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 28, 2018 More of the Same ahhh, yes. Sisters is a great song but 3rd best on the album!! Elegance is also fantastic.
Eeveelution Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Saturn felt so long to me Curiosity is the only song I use from the album honestly. No Tears, Elegance, Baby, Sisters. All bops.
Tom Vercetti Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Unique choice for DJ since everyone usually go for Pick Up. Starfruit, ntltc, x, elegenace Bubblin > anywhere but not a bad choice. Something about the vocals in Stop Trying To Be God is a little off for me and it makes me like the song less. More so on James's side.
