NEW RELEASES: WAVE ELECTION EDITION

Quote

The Weeknd should be safe for another week at #1 on our SPS chart. John Mayer (with his The Search for Everything - Wave One EP) and AFI, meanwhile, may battle for the best-selling album of the week.

John Mayer (Columbia) 38-41k SPS, 30-33k albums
AFI (Concord) 30-33k, 29-32k
2017 GRAMMY Nominees (WMG) 18-21k
Starset (Razor & Tie) 18-21k, 17-19k
Kidz Bop Kids (Razor & Tie) 17-19k, 16-18k

And now, the alternative facts edition:

Kellyanne Conway, "Are You Gonna Believe Me or Your Lying Eyes?" (True AF Records) 10,000,000 cassettes, 150,000,000 8-track tapes

We need any major popstar to release now, those sales and SPS are the pits.

This is what happens with this SPS...and major singles benefiting albums. It's a little skewed if you ask me.

That's why I feel they should follow the UK way of not counting the 2 most popular songs of the album to tabulate the popularity of the whole album

Well, ~55k isn't usually enough to get you a #1. Just a quiet market atm

Just out of curiosity, is anyone able to tell what Abel's SPS numbers for this week would have looked like with this method?
