Their US numbers were just much better than EXO's and Bigbang's, and their fanbase much bigger, even when they were middle of the road domestically. I think there are clear reasons why BIGBANG and EXO didn't make it. BIGBANG probably came off as a bit too try-hard with the attempts to look ~swag~, while EXO are at the opposite ends of the spectrum - too boyband-y. I think both will have benefitted from BTS tho. I could see a top 50 showing for EXO.

You underestimate the initial hype of Beyoncé dropping an album with that said, idk where this rumour came from and I highly doubt they’re releasing. Rooting for BTS even if I hate their twitter fanbase. It would be a big deal

geo Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I hope they take it, it'd be really cool to see a kpop album at #1 and it's really good

BTS at this point is a niche newbie act, dont be pathetic and bragging at this point. Beyonce or Adele dropping an album by surprise will destroy BTS to smitheerins. Look I'm happy that Asians are making it big now in the US (despite their mediocre music) but their fanbase's ego needs to be taken down a notch.

K-Pop stans are obnoxious for no reason considering their faves have hilariously short shelf lives. Comparing a fad band to Beyonce and Jay Z tho? Where are all the 'idols' from the past few years you guys keep gassing up. Just enjoy your moment while it's still here.

To call them a fad is a reach when they just keep getting bigger outside Korea since 2013.
Aniston's Boobs Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 The racists in ATRL already fuming at the possibility.
☆starshine☆ Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) "fad band" opening with 3 million globally the first week, selling out US arenas the pop girls couldn't do, and they haven't even reached their peak. The difference between the other idols and BTS is that none of them have ever seen this success domestically and overseas. The other biggest groups' latest albums sales totaled less than 10k in the US. They're literally in their own lane and shouldn't even be grouped with the rest of K-pop at this point. So yes, lets celebrate that! Edited May 22, 2018 by ☆starshine☆

They keep growing. It will give us something to look forward to with their next era when they finally reach #1 cause after this tour, their US army is gonna grow exponentially
