What about Katy, Gaga, P!nk, Taylor etc how convenient you'd leave them out.

Because BTS at the moment have everything their old, tired, rotting western pop girls don't.

Relevancy, success, touring, physicals, digitals and power.

Who cares though?

If they hit #1 it will be such a major mile-stone; nobody is gonna care if they sell 5K the following week.

Plus, Asian fans are used to the 90% 2nd week drop. It's very common in Japan & Korea. It's not gonna upset the Army.

Finally, their WW opening week might outperform some ATRL faves entire album run... Plus, their tour is selling out like hot cakes. So, we ain't tripping about that.

I’m sure their team care about overall profit than just a monent. They did spend loads of money on promo campaigns obviously.

And i’m not surprised that they could outsell global acts sunce this is not the first time a j-pop or k-pop act opened with like a million first week? It’s not like this is the first time of anything.

#1 on billboard is impressive i admit, but they had much heavier promo than normal k-pop act tho.

Promoting in places like the US is often cheaper than promoting at home for k-pop acts. :skull:

Tons of Korean acts film entire projects / campaigns abroad cause it's so much cheaper.

Plus, their time in the US will align with a sold-out area tour.

Stop being bitter, sis. They won.

Wrong. It's the first time a South Korean act has sold 1 million domestically in first week. South Korea has a population of 51 million. They have a much heavier promo schedule than a normal k-pop act because they're much more relevant than those k-pop acts, but they dramatically outsold in the first weeks of their previous albums, which they didn't promote. Their last album is still in the charts 8 months later, so I think they'll be fine in the long run.

You just seem to be trying everything to blunt this achievement. Maybe you should take a look at how much money they (and all big groups) spend on promo domestically. Their US promo was spare change.

BTS is a group. It's not even comparable with SOLO girls. Their success is a result of collective group. I doubt that if one member goes solo, they'd sell close to Selena/Demi, etc.

yes but you are bringing it up as if it changes anything. as if bruno isn't "asian enough" or something. bruno is filipino, and the philippines are in asia, making him one of the few asians to go #1.

the fact you even brought up that he's mixed and that BTS is "100% korean" is confusing to me. does it really matter if bruno is mixed? he's still asian. lol.

He s American tho.

they are actually foreigners.

He sings in English.

They actually sing in an Asian language.

His music is completely produced stateside.

Theirs is produced in Korea.

He s signed to a major us label & management company.

they are signed to a local eindependant label.

he is an American citizen.

They are Korean citizens.

If you can’t see the difference between Mariah Carey hitting #1 on the billboard Vs Kofi Olomide, it’s on you.

Post Malone and his fans are useless. The one time I actually root for him to succeed and he ends up failing.

I wanted to see the BTS fan outrage. I wanted WW3 on twitter.
