Justino should be passing Abel by next week and it's probably going to stay atop of pop for a while, there's no big competition.

I think its the  polarizing indie rock production.

I don’t find the production to be too out there like everyone else. Maybe it’ll be a slow burner. After how fast pop jumped on dl I did expect more given déjà vu’s stats are good

There is nothing polarizing about Déjà Vu.

It’s just not experiencing the success DL did and she’s a new artist.

I agree. However, It’s stats are still better than at least half the top 20 if not more. It shouldn’t be stalling.

In fact there are 13 (out of the other 19 songs in the Top 20) that are doing worse than Déjà Vu currently when you consider all metrics.

Both dl and dv are kinda polarizing songs tbh, they are noy easy-listening pop songs. It absolutely fits with teens, but I know that doesn't happen exactly with adults.  Even me (24 yr old) took me time to get into it, it has an indie alternative pop production, it's not just a straight pure pop song. That explains why it has such a negative reaction according to callouts, it sounds very different from other stuff on radio.

Nah, I was talking about "drivers license" ruling favoritism while also having the biggest negative reaction, my bad. :dies:

Deja Vu will likely debut with weak scores.

Yea both of Olivia's songs so far are not exactly Pop radio friendly.  She's doing really well considering neither one is a "bop".

Because Ariana has eight pop radio #1s as a proven hitmaker while this is like the 2nd single by Saweetie that pop has ever touched?

She announced today a new single and video May 14, I wonder if her team has a radio deal planned and that’s why they’re not bothering sending the checks for this one.

This is such a weird perspective. I have listened to Pop music my entire life almost exclusively and find not a single thing polarizing about DL or DV.

Billie Eilish's Bad Guy is a polarizing pop song, especially with the dark/creepy outro and the overall theme of the lyrics.

Pop songs are allowed to have different productions. That doesn't make them polarizing. The issue with Olivia's music is that her lyrics are very well written, but also extremely juvenile. You can tell the person singing about "strawberry ice cream in Malibu" and "switching jackets like we used to" is probably a teenager to care about that kind of stuff.

She's selling herself as a songwriter which means... people pay more attention to the music especially since her songs aren't that upbeat to primarily just pay attention to the beat/production. Ergo...if you don't connect with the lyrics - you don't connect with her songs at all.

Do you think 25+ year olds are REALLY going to connect with a song singing about a teenager finally getting her drivers license? No :skull: That's why it had mixed call out scores. It did great with teens and the tik tok crowd, but older adults cannot connect with those lyrics of hers. It's not at all because her productions are polarizing.

Drivers  License was a #1 song at Hot AC and close to going top 10 at AC. adults are here for it and probably alot like me don't try to analyze the lyrics .

Yes because then they listen to the songs in the eyes of their teenage children.
