Ger Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Intentions, gurl "Falling" back on track, I hope it gets Top 3 at least. "Circles" finally leaving the Top 10, as well as MOM. So looks like Drake should get Top 10 at least. Hopefully "RITMO" peaks now. Tired of the BK lazy updates, it should explode by now.

Probably because listeners didn't want to listen as much as they were. Not that they didn't enjoy the song from time to time, but it was playing too much for them. Adore You, Circles, DSN, Blinding Lights, you name it every one of them did improve their callouts (BL still on heavy rotation tho) after being #1, because audiences grow to like them as time goes by. Basically, listeners responded very badly to radio spamming this song. Still, I have to say that MOM's callouts were in fact quite quite low for a pop radio #1 and while they are improving they are still weird for a song that was so played on radio. Most of these #1s were really solid callout songs...

According to my brother, a camila stan. It was sabotaged by someone to kill it on radio. I of course do not think that is true.

I don't think MOM's drop is that weird. The thing is, in the last few weeks we got used to songs radio don't wanna let go for some reason (DSN, BL, AY, Circles etc.), so we tend to think it's strange that MOM is dropping (besides, just because it's Camila ppl go and throw the payola card just as another way to discredit the girl's success). But, as far as I'm concerned, all songs used to fall like this until they went recurrent. It was a way to finish a single's run and start the next one. It's just how it was and it's how I see MOM leaving.
More Than A Melody Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 There are ways to game radio callouts. It’s actually extremely easy and Camila stans were doing it last time I checked. They were also downvoting Adore You and Blinding Lights which is why at some point their callouts dropped by a lot (then organically went back up). I’m guessing Camila stans stopped taking the callout poll when she secured the #1 and then scrambled to do them again when she started dropping. The thing is that I’m pretty sure Mediabase has realised they’re gaming the system, so they’re monitoring callouts differently and they probably won’t take into account the fake ones anymore

The payola was clear there See them pushing Intentions? It's a top10 hit for more than a month now, My oh My was lingering in the top20/30 for months and suddernly got the push for #1 among a super crowded field ? Sure

I’m not taking a shot in the dark here, I saw DMs from groupchats where they organised to poll for Camila and against the songs at the top. Most fandoms don’t bother but Camila stans know very well the power of radio since it propelled a lot of her singles. It doesn’t matter anymore since I’m pretty sure Mediabase weeded them out already, but they did affect the rating of several songs for several weeks
