So it's more tragic that blinding lights can't enter top 10 on radio and top 10 on hot 100 yet despite the spotify payola and the big playlists.yew heartless won!

It's so blatant it's kind of off putting

 

I was telling a friend this the other day. She literally hit 30 in December and radio dropped her like a hot potato. You can't even argue it's the quality of the songs since Me! and LWYMMD charted way higher with awful callbacks

ME! and LWYMMD were lead singles with tons of hype, you can't compare them. moreover I don't think The Man is done yet.

Of course you can’t compare them because obviously the label pushed them. But Taylor’s songs used to smash on radio anyway, regardless of what they sounded like and what type of single they were. And now it takes ages for her to climb beyond top 20.

 

I do hope The Man does better than Lover and I think it has more potential, tho

Adam Levine plus The Weeknd (30 next week), The Jonas Brothers (27-32), Dan+Shay (28-32), Ed Sheeran (29), Blackbear (29). The only girl nearing or over 30 that's doing WELL on pop radio lately is Lizzo and that's because she became big last year, also she's an exception to most pop girl rules. All the others are mid to early 20s.

That's why I think unfortunately Lizzo's career on pop-radio will be very short-lived. She'll be 32 this year and probably nearing her mid 30s by her next album release. But yes the difference is so obvious, I wish there was an actual movement to bring awareness about this.

because their quality got way worse. even Reputation singles struggled on pop radio and Taylor wasn't 30 yet. considering the poor callouts Taylor's singles keep getting (all singles of her since 1989 got bad callouts except Delicate. which in fact smashed radio), her songs get actually great support from radio.
