There's a line that references the songs subject boarding a jet to Nova Scotia for a "total eclipse of the sun." That seems pretty appropriate for Canadian radio lol. I know GTA was 99.9-100% based on locality. Birmingham AL was 88%. Also, YSV was the fastest climb to #1 from 99, so I just looked it up. This is it: 99-60-37-9-4-1. The 37-9 jump is big for pre SS days. That was the great thing about chart runs in 1973. While the charts moved really fast, you still got a nice rise. Today, you either get a debut at the top and fall off fast or a very slow rise to the top and stay on the charts forever. The Break My Soul run is the perfect medium. 1

I can see it reaching a new one on the next few weeks. its interesting considering that she also has a new single dropping this week. It seems like radio loves it and it will have a greedy/exes kind of dual top 10 1

Not that surprising considering it is harder for Rap/Hip-Hop and/or Country songs to breakthrough in Canadian radio. Even when there's still a long way to go, I applaud the diversity is lowkey having Pop radio currently. Again, improvements can absolutely be carried out. You should definetely check "On My Mama", one my favorite songs of 2023. 1

I'll give the whole run since I checked it out: 99-60-37-9-4-1-1-1-2-2-2-2-4-6-11-26-49-X That drop was VERY slow for 1973 standards, even though the song fell off the chart from 49 without any RC rules. YSV had 3 #1 wks, 7 T2/3, 9 T5, 11 T10, 12 T15/20/25, 13 T30, 14 T40, 15 T50 & 17 H100. YSV finished #9 for 73 YE then. But with its extensive time close to the top YSV might rank higher now for 73 than before. 1

You should definetely check "On My Mama", one my favorite songs of 2023. Yes this was my biggest observation. Fast Car was the biggest country crossover last year, even Last Night struggled to get spins. But yes I'm slowly starting to see more diversity which is what I believe pop radio should be. Oh yea I've listened to it before, great song. I try to give a listen to every song on the US top 50 as soon as I notice it charting. 1

Finally there's no mega smash coming to jump over it again. It's just too bad there's no music video/promo and streaming is now too low for radio to make up. It will be off the H100 with Future/Taylor coming in the next few weeks.
