What could explain Paint the town red's poor airplay gains. Bad callouts?

I'm a bit shocked considering she made songs like Vegas and Get into it hits on pop radio... I know radio never grabs a Doja song super fast but this is her biggest streaming hit to date I guess I just assumed they would get on board with it quicker.

Apart from the new songs, everybody had weird updates yesterday. :sailing:

cruel summer didn’t go #1 because they never released a music video or any type of performance video for it. let’s not be delusional.

cruel summer didn't go #1 because it was never streamed enough in a week to be able to do so is the more logical explanation. according to kworb (https://kworb.net/spotify/track/1BxfuPKGuaTgP7aM0Bbdwr.html) it peaked at #2 on US spotify. smasha

so you agree with me that a music video would’ve helped it garner more streams in order to be able to go #1. ok.

i’m assuming you’re not saying cruel summer peaked at #2 on us spotify when it actually reached #1…

You don't need a video to stream a song

I'm not saying that. I said: according to kworb. It's right there in my post. It's the only resource I'm aware. Please forgive me if I am incorrect. For how many weeks did it peak at #1 on US Spotify?

but obviously music videos count towards a song’s streams. that’s why songs chart higher once their correspondent music videos are released.

& it peaked at #1 on us spotify for like a day if i’m not mistaken.

Even Taylor doesn’t care. It’s a megahit with or without #1.
