Don't get me wrong, I love CS and I'm happy it becomes a hit but this is the first time it made it to mainstream radio. Calm Down has 1B streams too and it's currently top 3 on Shazam. CS did amazing elsewhere but its Shazam performance is surprisingly bad.

who cares about shazam when it's stomping on every platform

Spotify/iTunes/AM

CS: 2/2/8

CD: 69/25/69

Vampire: 7/27/16

Flowers: 57/17/81

Sure Thing: 72/145/X

Jaded: X/126/X

BDHM: X/X/X

CS is also #2 on amazon while CD&V are nowhere to be found and yet radio is still playing garbage like flowers/cd/as it was and bombs like the last three

Yeah, Pop radio needed to let go of Calm Down and Flowers like 3 months ago, especially CD still being this high on Pop is beyond insanity.

Because Shazam is usually the platform radio cares the most. Looks like radio is dropping CS now.

Yeah... Its streams don't even justify its airplay.

Not entirely true. While there's a good correlation between songs taking off on airplay, this doesn't necessarily apply for already well established hits. If a song has enough fammiliarity, it is well-known, GP is not going to shazam it, and CS is an already familiar title.

Calm Down was very successful outside of the US before it became a hit here. I doubt its US streams are as high as CS.

Yea, I feel like Pop needs to gut Flowers, and let Calm Down and Creepin have their turns at #1 and get them out of the way so we can be done with this BS sooner rather than later.

Is it thought. I talked to a radio music director from a large radio station, and they told me they only care about callout surveys and streaming, and they don't look at shazam at all. May depend on the station though.

The funny thing is that I first wrote this on April 26, and here we are 3.5 months later with only one of those songs going recurrent and one of them still at #2 on Pop.

I wish Pop radio would give more songs the Break My Soul treatment, like they used to do in the 1970s, when songs would peak in 8-10 weeks then dropped quickly.

At this rate, "Karma" is leaving the Top 10 sooner than "Flowers". :rip:

And I wonder what's coming for Top 10 because BW is going hard, but still has plenty to grow.

We only have 4 songs above 12k spins and 5 songs above 11k spins.

Last Night and Eyes Closed are going recurrent this week.

Need a Favor spends a 2nd week at #1 on Billboard Country airplay: https://s3.amazonaws.com/bulletins.billboard.com/country/country_update_2023_0811.pdf

Also notable is that Fast Car is dropping faster on country than LN.

Also notable is that Fast Car is dropping faster on country than LN.

But it's possible Country radio is just trying to make room for 2 Top 5 solo currents by the same artist though. I still think FC has more legs left at Country than LN in the long run. FC is still fresher elsewhere too, which also would favor Country to keep spinning it. But we'll see I guess. Has Combs/label given a max spins LYA date?

LYA doesn't have a max spin date yet. FC has been discounted all versions to 69 cents on iTunes, but I don't think that will be enough to beat out Cruel Summer, which has a 15-point lead over LN and FC.
