Eyes Closed must have some INSANE payola... there is no reason for it to be so stable yet completely N/A on streaming

This is almost like nonsense all over again. The common thread between the songs is that Sabrina didn't have a follow-up single to nonsense, just like Ed hasn't had a follow up to Eyes Closed. Pop radio kept both of those songs afloat way longer than they deserved.

Calm Down Shameless payola :gaycat7:

Olivia is coming …. Btw… is there a Radio version where they censored the Fame fucker part

Why would any record label be still paying for a song that has been charting for 43 weeks on the hot 100 to still be playing that much on the radio? While they do NOTHING ELSE about it? Serving delulu.

It's a GP loved smash hit, those kinda of songs happen do u know? Senorita, for example. It 100% has a summer vibe which is exactly why this will chart the whole summer.

Why wouldn't it? It's a loved song and a WW hit, releases are slow, it got the summer vibe. why wouldn't they play it a lot?

Expect Country songs to lose more overall airplay due to 04 July Tuesday. So next week they'll all get a small bounce back.

Edited to clarify comment.

Country songs lose a little airplay due to 04 July due to "patriotic programming ". Maybe I said that wrong.

Edited for elaboration. So yes that should help Olivia. I can't guarantee anything but I think she'll get this 1 week at least.

But do we need a 43-week song returning to the top of the Pop chart? I know you love Calm Down, but it already has served its purpose. It's time for Pop radio to drop this one and let other songs have their day in the sun.

Ahhh, i agree with you. It shouldnt be like this.

With the fact that releases are slow, radio is sooo boring rn there’s no reason why they shouldn’t play Calm Down since its a WW smash and it 100% got the needed summer vibe. I dont think its payola for a +40 charting weeks song, thats why i quoted that boy.

But in general i agree with you, radio shouldnt be this boring as it is in 2023, i think its the most boring year ever. The rotativity is  close to zero, its insane.
I think it shouldnt be like this at all, i used to keep track on radio updates around 2013-2017 and i dont remember it being this boring.

if the songs rotation  were “normal” i wouldnt be cheering for calm down to stay the whole summer, but since we’re in this almost zero radio rotation, at least its a song that i like at the top. So thats why i cheer. But i agree radio in 2023 has been pretty bad.

I think there's still a chance of Calm Down get back to #1 after Karma

With Chemical dropping like a rock, Cupid should take its place in the Top 10 on Thursday.

Also, keep in mind that every song that has passed Creepin has reached #1 on Pop. That bodes well for Last Night, which looks primed to be the next #1 on Pop after Karma.

Karma :clap3:

With "Karma" going #1 on the Pop Airplay chart (Billboard), Taylor will join Rihanna, Katy and Maroon 5 as the artists with the most number-one hits on the chart ever (since its inception back in late 1992) with 11 songs each.

Don't think "Cupid" is going very higher, but happy it's getting Top 10 at least nevertheless!
