Perhaps this is a worse situation than what we had during the start of the pandemic (Apr-Jul 2020). :deadbanana4:

Recurrent songs like IG(B), AH, ILY(AHS) and AIW still on Power on the biggest Pop stations. :deadbanana2: AH is still that b!tch, so no complains. :katie2:

It feels so wrong and funny that Die For You ended up as the biggest Pop song of the time period that brought us songs like Closer, Shape of You, Havana, Perfect, and New Rules.

I heard Fast Car on the radio last night. We may have another country #1 on the Hot 100…it was so good

I love this song, but we already had the original and then a few years ago during the tropical house craze the Jonas Blue version was a big hit in Canada. So this one isn't clicking as much, since I've heard so many versions recently.

I don’t see it going to #1. I think it’s going to stall around #4 or #5. Last Night has a large advantage in streaming on the competition. Fast Car is still 14M in streaming behind LN. It also doesn’t help matters that Pop radio hasn’t embraced FC like they have with LN. I have a hard time thinking FC will even pass Flowers and Calm Down with the way Pop/radio refuses to let those songs go.

Taylor is the one with her eyes open, Ed prefers having them closed.

Ed's song really annoys me so I didn't even care to learn the title.

I really like this song, didn't realize they were similar. Bebe's is a lot less dreary than Ed's.

Country crossovers always hit walls at top 40 regardless of their metrics. Some, especially bigger, stations refuse to play them. Last Night may get to 8-9 without an official remix & 4-5 if they release 1. Hell even the Mobile AL station which likes Country songs isn't playing it (but is playing Thank God). I  see Fast Car peaking 12-15 & I know Luke Combs won't do a remix. That would cost Combs Country credibility.

Well in the US it’s already top 10 and with everything above it at their peak, it really is uphill

its also a bit more pop friendly than Last Night so I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes far. I’m not counting it out

Things that used to be commonplace back in the day that younger people in 2023 don't get to experience: Local radio stations with very little formatting or genre preferences. Growing up, it was common to hear different artist/groups on a radio station. I still remember hearing amazing artists like Whitney Houston for the first time and being completely awestruck by her voice.
