where is this supposed ranking for Elton

and no if Elton had released both songs without their features no one would've played it

Dua carried and so did Brittney

Here it is:

Keep in mind, this is from 2019, so Elton has probably passed The Rolling Stones for #2 with his contributions to Cold Heart and Hold Me Closer. Dua carrying was proven false by the flopping of Sweetest Pie. (If Dua carried, then why couldn't she - with the help of another top current artist - debut at #1 and have a long chart run in some of the weakest competition ever?) I need to see how Britney's next solo song does before I can make a determination of her carrying. But the only thing we have right now is that Elton is the common denominator of both songs, which have turned out to be successful.

Elton John released a song with Charlie Puth last year a month after Cold Heart as a single from his album The Lockdown Sessions

That song didn't even debut on the Hot 100 :coffee2:

If Elton carried Cold Heart and Hold Me Closer then why his song with Charlie didn't even debut on the Top 100  :cm:

Good thing that Billboard determines the percentage of credit that goes to each artist, and not us. All that matters is at the end of the day, Elton is listed as the main artist on both songs, and will get credit for 70% of the points of both songs towards the Top Artists Overall ranking, while Dua gets 30% on Cold Heart, and Britney 30% on Hold Me Closer.

and still he was carried by Dua regardless

her name is on da record hence why pop radio gave it a chance

let Elton try to score a hit by himself

do u have sumthin against Dua?

I mean, Dua isn't as powerful as her stans often state, but Sir Elton definetely used Dua to score a hit and stay relevant.

Dua isn't relatively consistent with hits, she's more a hit or miss. Although when she scores a hit, it's usually a huge one (Don't Start Now and Miss Levitating).

Yes, I know Dua is hit or Miss but she had the hype from the eras earlier singles DSN, BMH, L, and it didn’t carry to latter singles Pop plays like Doja and all her 7+ singles

lets not forget You Right Gad week streams when released as a single and was being out streamed by album tracks, The Woman video was super late and the song was released later to radio after being a WW hit for months, Get Into It had also slowed down and didn’t chart high on streaming during its radio run

both had strong singles and weaker singles yet Doja’s songs all peaked higher on Pop radio plus Doja hasn’t toured and Dua Lipa had a sold out tour

Didn’t Woman had bad callouts and Get into Gad okay callouts?

Woman had weak callouts at the start, but improved to good. It helped that she came from three massive hits, especially NTK, which is a pop radio staple. GII(Y) debuted with great callouts.

For what it's worth, some of the songs with the worst callout scores at the beginning of spring 2021 included Save Your Tears, Levitating, and Heat Waves.

@Ger-55  Is Charlie submitting Loser to radio? or does it have any deal?

Posted

I’m happy that Bad Habit broke through and is now #6. However, it can go even higher if Pop/radio ever decides to let go of old songs like ILY and AIW. There’s absolutely no reason why two artists should own half of the Top 10 on Pop radio.

An artist having 2 songs in the top 10 is not uncommon. Especially when one is because of a feature. That’s happened many many times over the decades

now 3 songs top 10 is a new phenomenon

I don't think so. It doesn't even have an adds date yet.

Looks like Harry just joined Doja and Ariana as the only artists to score 3 top ten hits at once.
