You do understand Pop radio stations are a popular choice in many corporate settings, retail store, offices, etc. Where a rap song like Not Like Us would risk them looking listeners while a soft-country song would not. That's why many of the stations that do play it will give it a spin or 2 after 6pm. Not saying it's right, but it makes sense.

It's honestly very disappointing and unfair the way Pop radio refuses to embrace/play Hip-Hop/Rap songs, they used to give it more of a chance, but these past few years...

 

There's no justification for a smash like NLU not being at least Top 20, while you have big push for songs that again and again have showed that GP really does not care about them, curtrent examples being Illusion and MYM.

I obviously get it, but there's no reason for pop to embrace a country song if they're not doing the same for other genres, especially now when both formats suddenly have the same weight which makes it impossible for other songs to have any chance against them on the hot100 and overall radio, like it's ridiculous that NLU & PPP are massive yet struggling to compete with it.

 

Also, with that same logic, the new Kelsea & Noah collab should receive the treatment, and yet we can already see it's fate from a mile away, the same applies for many songs in the past couple of years, like: 'The Bones' duet with Hozier which didn't touch pop's top 10, 'I Bet You Think About Me', and let me not begin with the disastrous treatment of 'I Remember Everything'...

I work at a bank. We always have to 40 radio on. And I remember a Lil Uzi song came on and my manager said to change it. I very politely told her she's being racist because she always discriminates artists of a certain skin colour.

Probably not. I just can't see Espresso charting above A Bar Song going forward. Espresso has pretty much maxed in spins on Pop, whereas A Bar Song continues to grow healthily on both Pop and country.
