There's really no reason to be this nasty towards one another in here. Friendly reminder to everyone that such is the nature of a board like this; it attracts and is populated by fans that want to discuss and dissect things to more detail than the surface level 'yass queen slay' 'where are the visuals queen' comments you see in twitter quotes and under instagram posts. Naturally you won't agree with a lot of people's takes on certain matters, and by all means engage when you feel like it but if it comes to a point where you create hostility towards others, especially in a thread where we're all rooting for the same artist then perhaps it is better if you just scroll down past it. If this bothers you so much that not even the ignore function won't make you feel better then I'm sure you can find other fan spaces with dynamics more adequate to what you're looking for. It feels like attacks are starting to get really personal again just like when some of you made Chriz leave and it's not cool at all. It's never this serious.15 points

or just old white rockers thinking their music is only "the real music" while Abba discography is way better than Kiss even without electric guitars?14 points

Not the Hive talking about how we shouldn’t pit two female musicians against each other. Y’all switched up real quick… odd timing13 points

Why the need to make it a direct comparison in the thread title, when you could've just threaded Beyoncé's pre-sale numbers and leave Taylor out of it?13 points

This thread is super funny not because of the OP but because ATRL spends their whole lives attacking pop girls but once someone admits it they treat them like crazy11 points

IMO, the idea of other fanbases being different and more supportive towards their faves is bullshit. Taylor fans dragged her for Cats, her relationships, etc. Bey fans also had tons of meltdowns because of her long album breaks + lack of Rena visuals. Every fanbase is like this. Most just think monsters are "worse" because they are part of the fanbase and interact with other monsters on a daily basis.10 points

He's not really come back and has remained largely inactive ever since. Nor is this an echo-chamber of complaining by any means; you just don't partake in the neutral/positive discussions as much as you champion. I tried opening a discussion yesterday about which performance footage y'all are looking forward to the most; none of you replied yet are quick to jump into arguments and fights at any mention of her unconventional approach to her career moves. So I'd go easy with the finger-pointing. Perhaps ask yourself why your excitement depends on the opinions of others. That is something that should be yours alone first and foremost. The entire forum could tage me about how this concert film is **** and I'd still feel liker a kid on Christmas morning when I go to the theatre. There's plenty of other threads (especially lately) where you can take your anger if you're so Heated.mp3 instead of creating a hostile environment for fellow stans in here.8 points

See, this is the problem. So many corners of the fanbase feel like this grown woman is immune to criticism and that anyone who does it is a whiner or thinks they have agency over her. None of us have agency over her. She is free to do whatever she pleases! No one can or should try and stop her. That doesn’t mean we have to be supportive of it. I’ve watched her movies in theaters multiple times. I bought the jazz albums. I’ve supported her in those endeavors. That isn’t the issue I or a lot of people have. My issue is the fact that she has changed a lot in a way that is not welcoming to people who’re not willing or are not to slap down a bunch of money for her products or for her shows. She’s changed in a way that has taken her far away from that fearless, rebellious spirit everyone fell in love with to someone who is calculating every step of their career to be as digestible to the public that once shunned her as possible. It’s really disappointing to see a woman who preached for so long about owning your uniqueness and individuality turn around and start bating for Oscars and begging the people who once hated you to love you. She’s been courting that middle American style vanilla audience since Joanne whether long time fans want to admit that or not. Those types of people are more valuable to her now than her actual fans are. And that’s her choice! I don’t advocate for anyone to be aggressive in their response to that, or call her nasty things, or flood her comments with their complaints or trying to dissuade her from that choice. But it’s wrong to try and push people out of the fanbase simply because they’re saying things you don’t want to hear. When you build your entire career off of establishing a relationship with your audience and preaching so many wonderful things, there is bound to be backlash when you decide to change tack and abandon all of that, no matter what the reasons for it are. She’s just decided she’s fine with that. And again, that’s her choice! But that doesn’t mean everyone else automatically has to be fine with it either. More and more people are realizing stanning doesn’t mean you constantly have to eat your fave’s ass. There is room for criticism in being stan.8 points

No, the problem is that liddos hype up Gaga like she’s still in her Fame days, Taylor is literally the biggest artist in the world right now and so the fans are acting accordingly8 points
-
No one cares about what happened between them 15 years ago. The majority of both fanbases have moved on and most importantly both of these women came together, formed a genuine bond, and have been supportive of one another over the years. We love two talented women who remain classy and mature8 points

Partly that but it’s also partly because it’s very evident from the outside that right now a lot of Gaga fans feel very alienated from her. We’re in an era of Gaga chasing after an audience and bags that doesn’t really leave a lot of room for her traditional fans to participate. And I know it gets really hard to see other fanbases having such a close connection to the artist and getting to be part of the fun so much when that just isn’t really a Little Monster’s lot in life right now.8 points

okay finally home safe and have had time to digest the show i honestly can’t believe how POWERFUL her presence is compared to the last time I saw her, like she KNOWS she’s that b!tch also did not expect to cry to Church Girl of all songs, but idk something about it really spoke to me! the idea of casting off shame to embrace personal liberation just finally clicked beyond it being a fun song the longass mute sent me into orbit tho - you could tell it caught everyone off guard and that’s why things devolved into foolishness. she was a mess for saying we won initially a little disappointed when she popped up in the red Loewe, but it actually worked so well with the color scheme of the lighting in person. the classic is still supreme, but red is still gorgeous my throat is still shredded from all my screaming and singing8 points

Last night I had a dream Neck was filming a music video on the street below my bedroom window and I spent all night watching her. She was standing in front of a massive pile of yellow cabs, the worst pile-up you ever did see. Fire and everything. And the next morning there was a thread here about it, and an OBH comment: "Cop cars again, typical Beyonce!" I responded "they're NYC taxi cabs you f*cking moron" and got permabanned for profanity. So yeah I'm doing great how are y'all7 points

*****, WHO are you to tell me how to feel about something? I was waiting a long time for this repress and it was a letdown because I tend to hyper-focus on downsides of things. I even stated in the post that this was the first time in 4 years of collecting (almost 500 records) that I did that. Lemme show you the mail that I wrote and you decide if that was a Karen move: "Dear Bravado Team, as a long-time customer I never had a problem with your service. Thanks for that! But today I received the new Lana Del Rey repress and I found a visible bent in the upper corner *see attachment* and some more creases in the bottom of the cover. I would usually not care that much and move on but this is a very special release to me and I would love to own a flaw-free copy of it. Thank you for your help and enjoy your weekend/have a good start into the new week! :)" They even answered with a smiley in their response. Now shut up and let me enjoy my little victory and free copy. I'm sure Universal Music Group will handle it well.7 points
