shelven Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Screaming at how melodramatic they're being over such a small difference And for those who are saying "Well 30K is enough to debut in the Top 10 nowadays, it's a big difference", it's really not a big difference at all in the context of a 1M+ debut. If Billboard were to add the 30K to its original 1.26M figure, then reputation's debut figure would go up by 2.4%. HDD's really this up in arms about a ~2% margin of error?. That's the equivalent of HDD complaining that they reported an album as selling 50K but Billboard only reported it as 49K
UNNAMI Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 honestly they are right. 1989 is 1.28 it's really a difference if reputation is 1.26 or 1.29 1.26 means she have four million sellers, it's of course amazing but 1.29 shows that she is growing with every release selling more in every release
chiliam Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I demand a recount. Billboard is under Putin's influence now, fake news.

slw84 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 azealia is rubbing off on the industry. speak your peace and make them answer

They should be right. Not 30k more. Not 30k less. Billboard are right. They are the standard. HDD is not. HDD overestimated.

I'm more concerned with Billboard's methodology shift which supposedly began this week, and how they will be weighting audio (premium/non-premium) and video streams in the coming year. Getting those numbers right is far more important.
peterstyles13 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I'm so confused as to what are the official numbers

Cap10Planet Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 This Nicki vs. Remy/Cardi vs. Azealia-like one-sided feud.
EnoughSaid Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 HDD can keep trying but they are not that girl, they’re a cute knockoff that can give us the sales estimates as they progress but at the end of the day if it’s not on Billboard it’s not legit. Billboard IS that girl and HDD looks pathetic as hell always whining about it
Blue Honeymoon Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) BB200 article is out. HDD lost. Edited November 21, 2017 by Blue Honeymoon

Kyle-x Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 HDD isn't even using their own number for 1989 so why should Billboard consider HDD's number for reputation lol. Compare a HDD number vs. a HDD number and a SoundScan number vs. SoundScan number. They have different rules and methodologies so clearly the number would be different.
TKO Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Billboard is shady. All the time they change their rules in order to benefit certain artists. Also thanks to HDD we get a lot of sales and receipts after their first week sales, so i support them.

I remember there`s a thread on ATRL celebrate about Demi`s 5th week sales reach 10k, increase 2k from the previous 8k last week. And now those same people said 30k is nothing.
