We have to consider that this year Last Christmas is doing even less than STM was last year (520k on 11/02) and Ariana was in the middle of the positions release week. So while it still has cute numbers, it's obvious that the actual classics like Rockin Around The Christmas Tree, Jingle Bell Rock and Michael Buble's song are be above it.

Yes that's true, but Snowman is still is going viral on Tik Tok and has been all year long, not sure if we should count that.

 

Also it's a bit too much of us to expect STM to do as good as it did the past few years, it always had an era/songs to go along with it and boost its streams, STM is all alone this year and has to fight alone.

 

I felt a bit confused too yesterday, but the fact it's growing on par together with the old classics is a great start for now, especially if you consider that they've always been pretty close in streams (Brenda, Ariana, Michael Buble, Justin and Bobby Helms).

it’s definitely still not going viral, the trend for it started BEFORE christmas last year and peaked in like january. i definitely think that spotify will push it on a lot playlists too seeing this.

 

also because it went viral last year it’s likely to get a lot of tik tok plays this year too, it’ll be STM’s first real threat from a song from the 21st century. STM is already solidified itself above mistletoe
