can it stay like 52 weeks?

Yes. I have a feeling Feeling will go "super recurrent," succumbing to the 25/52 rule.

Then there was the other #1 Bad Blood, where an uncredited Elton John certainly deserved credit for his backing vocals.

Yeah there were a lot more of these in the 1970s and 1980s when the record labels were less likely to coordinate and cooperate with one another. Prince's "You've Got The Look" was clearly an uncredited duet with Sheena Easton. Herb Albert's "Diamonds" was sung by Janet Jackson, but she never received any credit for the song.

Carly Simon's voice in the chorus of "You're So Vain" is drowned out by Mick Jagger, but he's not credited either. This was a popular and recurring topic in Gary Trust's Ask Billboard column for quite a while.

As for another feature that deserves equal billing, Santana's "Smooth" "featuring" Rob Thomas. Santana should be considered a main artist, as the song is built around his amazing guitar abilities. However, since Rob Thomas is the only vocalist on Smooth, and he helped write the song, he should've received equal billing on the song.

Do you think they will ever combine streams + sales like the UK does for its chart formula?

If not, what are they going to do when songs in the top 10 aren't selling more than like 25k for the week. Keep raising the sales weighting?

They do combine sales + streams? (+ airpaly)

Think the best "solution" here is iTunes just closing it's store

Its not exactly like that though is it? I think in the UK Streaming and sales are essentially the same thing so a song can hit #1 with 130k sales which is actually itunes sales + Spotify numbers , where in the US you still get a Pure Sales and Streaming number.

It is basically the same thing when they do the charts. Just Uk charts people and Billboard tell us different things.

Knowing how ****ty country labels are, no.

I could see HAC maybe but I doubt pop. It's already charting on country( :rip: ) though

Wait what? I thought Katy was bombing. It ain't a Top2 debut like her previous 3 lead singles but I'll take it.

Let me check this thread real quick

Both the US and Uk use a formula that turns a certain amount of streams into sales. So it is essentially the same thing.

i just did a look and saw this effective Jan 2017. UK Official charts changes the formula from 100 streams equals a sale to 150 streams to offset the rise in streaming.

so for now, the U.K as well is doing as BB does and trying to keep sales relevance alive.

Yeah, the RIAA probably needs to increase singles to 200 streams and albums to 2,000.
