Simply releasing a song doesn't make it a single, wtf. 

 

And it didn't have a radio deal considering it took 3 days to chart on Pop radio. A song with a radio deal will chart the first day.

 

Anyways, it's obviously going to be promoted to an official single. The unsolicited airplay is huge.

It's not common but non-singles HAVE taken off on radio before. Just because a song is getting played early doesn't mean it's an official single.

But you still don't find those 2+ million updates in its first days after the song is released are part of a radio deal? There was even a tweet from iHeart radio that they will start playing the song at the same minute it was released on itunes.

I cant believe theyd be dumb enough to go with Ready for it as 2nd single at this point. May have been the plan but its global positions so far are dysmal. You tube terrible. I just dont see big interest there. Videos cant save any ole song.

Maybe it has to do with the artist being a huge star on the format, the song immediately went to #1 on iTunes with a huge lead, and also reached #1 on Spotify.

 

If it was an official single from the get go it'd have had updates bigger than 2 million during its first week since Taylor's 5th single last era was doing more than 2 million during it's first week.
