IDWLF (Taylor/Zayn) had 12 weeks. Humble had 15. I mean the song was a huge hit with good longevity, but I feel like it's going to be one of her more forgotten hits personally. Another one in the basket for queen regardless of what I think tho

I know Kelly is an older artist but her streaming shouldn't be this awful. And it's not like the song is slaying in sales either. It's out of the Top 50 on iTunes already 3 hours ago, Thickorita said: yeah kelly is bombing, not even top 200 on spotify on monday the week of its release (when new releases get a boost) and falling on itunes Heartbeat Song really wasn't performing much better at this point though, like the iTunes run for LSS has been better than HBS but obviously it debuted lower. I think once her promo fully kicks in we'll be able to judge it more fairly as Kelly isn't a main pop girl anymore. Her streams *are* straight up god awful though, those are pretty indefensible

Mr. Adele Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Hoping Rockstar will debut at #4 and 1-800 can stay at #3 I dont care about Niall going TOP 10, I need the good-sis Demi to get there tho. New Rules already being a TOP 50 smash Coming for TOP 10
Mattyboy Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 So if Post Malone released a video or had his audio on VEVO he could’ve had a #1 debut. I didn’t know he was that huge.

fridayteenage Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 good for feel it still. I find it okay, but its success feels very organic and unexpected.
Cap10Planet Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 So, Post Malone may debut somewhere in the top 5? #3, I suppose?

iHype. Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 A #1 debut isn't an achievement anymore. It's about to be happening multiple times per year.

UNNAMI Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 for over 1000 #1s songs 28 of them are #1 debuts. I would say it pretty rare, maybe not in last couple of years, but it still a big thing. everytime someone debuts at 1 gets special article on billboard alone. for that free additional publicity is a good think.

Not one of her best songs so I'm not mad. 13 consecutive weeks in the top 10 including 7 weeks at #2 (and a 14th week in the top 15) is not what I would call a quick lil hit though ...but for Rih's standards, i guess it is

Looking through her spotify is like being on Tinder while travelling to a big city. So much candy it is overwhelming and too much to handle.

A #1 debut was still a new thing then though so it made sense it was considered a big deal somewhat. It's not a new thing anymore and pretty expected for new singles by big artists. 34 minutes ago, UNNAMI said: for over 1000 #1s songs 28 of them are #1 debuts. I'm the One and Shape Of You debuted #1. LWYMMD would've debuted #1 if not for a dumb tracking rule, and Rockstar could've debuted #1. That was essentially 4 #1 debuts this year. In streaming era where there's usually 8-12 #1s per year one third, or even one half being #1 debuts doesn't make it really a notable accomplishment at this point.

I agree, there are like 1060+ #1 hits? songs that debuted at #1 make like 2,5% so I'd say that's pretty rare and will still be an achievement for a while.

Only 6 albums debuted #1 from 1958-1991. However nearly every single #1 album these days debuts at #1. Stuff becomes an achievement in some eras and not an achievement in other eras. Only 2 songs spent 10 weeks #1 from 1958-1991, yet you won't see people being shocked if it happens today. It would be shocking if a song didn't spend 10 weeks at #1 an entire year.
