Hector Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Talent won Interesting they did the ticket bundle thing too, but ATRL won't lynch them for that of course.
E•MO•TION Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 I was wondering HOW in the heck they did that. They fell off iTunes top spot SO stinking fast I think first day but a ticket bundle makes sense. Imo ticket bundles should be banned it's totally not fair.
Vxspertine Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Kendrick serving longevity And SZA too

You mean Brand New. But yeah that record should keep getting broken as sales keep falling (because as sales fall, the proportion of sales that occur first week rises, and for extremely sales-fueled acts that means increasingly worse second weeks)

Going from 1-43 to 1-97 was a HUGE change. There have been one or two albums that fell from the T 5 out of the BB 200, and even from #1 on Rock Albums to around #25. Remember, when Hello virtually doubled the Spotify daily record, it took many months before One Dance BARELY edged her out. Later in 2017, several songs moved well past 2.7 M, but that was nearly 2 years later.

And consumption is indeed better than just raw sales. However, BB really should implement a 1k/wk raw sales minimum for albums to chart on the BB 200. That's a perfectly reasonable threshold requirement for chart placement. Since BB can only publicly release sales data rounded to the nearest thousand, 1k is the perfect minimum. That way BB wouldn't have to dance around saying "WAY under 1k" in raw sales when trying to explain an album's numbers.
Crescendolls. Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Kendrick not budging from the top 5 five months later

It's not because there are countless albums that don't have hits at all (or had hits but don't anymore— think catalog albums like Anti, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, and Dangerous Woman) that aren't selling 1k/week but are still being consumed. More Life has no hits at the moment and is not selling 1k/week. But it's getting 30 million streams every week. So it shouldn't chart?
