musicman101 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Absolute MESS at Closer being #4 There really needs to be more movement and more to pick from in the mainstream...... The radio always overplays songs but I've noticed that it's gotten significantly worse this year in comparison to a couple years prior
Tutankhamun Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 nnnnnnnnnnnnnn @ Closer being the 4th biggest song in 2017. Burn it with fire Jesus
Nikko Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 09 James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go Never heard of that.
luckythisway Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 (edited) what DJ Khaled song is #10? I'm the One? Edited August 13, 2017 by luckythisway
umich Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Oh wow. So Closer will (most likely) be the first song to place in the top ten YE twice since Candle In The Wind (#1 in 1997, #8 in 1998)? Also, not surprised to see B&B above BB. The latter's longevity was terrible after it left number one.

What surprises me the most is that Bad And Boujee is lower than Closer. And amazing that Body Like a Back Road will likely be in the year-end top 10. If this was with the old sales/airplay formula it would probably be top 5 on the year-end chart.

Green Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 (edited) In a couple of weeks Julia Michaels will have the biggest female solo song of the year Also Halsey is the only female in the top 15 and she's just a feature This year won't have any females (as lead) in the top 10 for sure. When was the last time that happened? Edited August 13, 2017 by Green

mylicious Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I hope this means that female domination will take over in the next year.

Absolutely, nevertheless its streaming isn't negligible. 2 hours ago, Green said: In a couple of weeks Julia Michaels will have the biggest female solo song of the year Also Halsey is the only female in the top 15 and she's just a feature This year won't have any females (as lead) in the top 10 for sure. When was the last time that happened? It would be the first time since 1976, the highest lead female song that year was "Fly, Robin, Fly" by Silver Convention (a girl group) (If that doesn't count for you, then the highest was Diana Ross at #15 that year with "Love Hangover"). 2 hours ago, TheWayWeWere said: Issues in top 20 She totally deserved her spot inside Top 10

Safe&Sound Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Closer in Top 5 Zayn and Taylor in Top 20 Hopefully they are not knocked out with new releases
Letters From Adi Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 lol if James peaks higher on the YE chart
Michael21 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Wild thoughts could be in top 20 if it has longevity. Despacito and Shape Of You
Konril Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Any chance Despacito can snatch that #1 from Ed?

Because it's one of best classics I've ever heard, it's amazing. 55 minutes ago, Arcane_Sky said: Any chance Despacito can snatch that #1 from Ed? I'm kinda wishing that (and I was it was closer while I was doing this), but SOY decreases slowly, mostly because of the insane airplay longevity.
