Thats not really an answer to my question...

Is this a frequent or rare occurrence?

The frequency has no bearing on whether it happens.

Your argument is a logical fallacy. Agumentum ad antiquitatem (appeal to antiquity/tradition).

The drop he posted was actually for JayZ's third week.

1st week: free copies via Tidal and Sprint + free streams

2nd week: streams from Tidal + Apple Music + physical sales

3rd week: natural 70% drop

Sorry, but if the "1st week" isn't anything but a free for all, that's a glorified leak.

If Jay is the only prior example than that really does support this logic.

I mean, i don't know what the point of this was. His first week streams weren't reported to Billboard. :flower:

Some of you still trying :ahh:

You could stream Meek's album on Tidal without an account. It's like streaming an album on YT.:cm:

Shouldn't Billboard count YT streams for the albums charts as well then? :fan:

Jay-Z's streaming numbers the week he debuted on Billboard 200: 122,417,276

Jay-Z's streaming numbers the following week: 33,676,310

-72.4% drop; the biggest drop in history for an album to debut #1 on streaming.

This is while on Apple Music & TIDAL. Numbers Apple Music exclusives without Spotify pulled during their first 2 weeks:

Views:

First week - 245,087,706

Second week - 140,797,366

42% drop.

Coloring Book:

First week - 57,345,228

Second week - 31,594,232

45% drop.

Blonde:

First week - 65,364,954

Second week - 34,924,987

47% drop.

According to HDD, 68m streams were fake.

You remove 68m streams from the week he debuted on Billboard 200, and..

4:44:

First week - 54,417,276

Second week - 33,676,310

38% drop, inline with other 3 Apple Music exclusives that had no Spotify.

So either,

- His 68m streams on TIDAL magically dropped around 99% after one week, since his Apple Music numbers account for almost all of it's total the following week.

- TIDAL submitted fake numbers the week he debuted on Billboard and created an unrealistic drop following week drop.

And instead of pulling statistics to disprove my statistics, you resort to false accusations. :clap3: Loves it.

Can you explain why other albums on Apple Music all had 40-50% drops (even ones with no hits), and Jay-Z had a 72% drop?

Can you explain how his streams dropped more than his sales the following week despite a million copies being given away?

Can you explain why when you remove the 68 million streams in question, he magically has a drop aligned with other Apple Music releases with no hits?

Can you explain why on top of all of this there is also industry publications calling the streams likely fake?

Or are you going to ignore statistics that point to inflation for Jay-Z and resort to shouting "pressed!", "witchunt!", "TIDAL hater!", "Drake stan". :fan:

The free puwall has only occurred twice and both times, Tidal didn't report their streams, so yeah it supports it.

now jay's number is fake too? ihype is doing too much. what's next? lemonade was fake?

jay got huge early streams due to big hype, just like tidal app back to #1 on app store from #164.

same goes to kanye and beyonce. they all had huge hype and interest, boost tidal app to #1, got over 1m new users in a few days.

it's natural for album with huge hype to falling after sale is on, other streaming is on, hype is gone.

his streaming number is same as lemonade which had huge 1~2 week streams then had like 60~70% drop.

...but a lot of other artists had big hype too, and it didn't happen to them. that's literally the point being made.

and beyonce's pure sales were huge with lemonade too, which wasn't true for jay. that's why her figure is more believable.

but they wasn't tidal exclusive. that's the point. due to hype and target demo, they had huge interest/hype around first few wks,

everyone check out tidal(trial), then moved on with sales, other streaming, or other albums.

Jay gave away 1m free download, his promotion was centered around sprint/tidal stream which got huge traffic to tidal.

now that hype is over, he's falling. not to mention he is old veteran act who don't have fan outside typical hiphop demo, not much young fans. he doesn't cater to this new young big fun club beat hihop fans who doesn't rely on radio, or traditional media.

this is also reason why his sales are having great drops unlike other rappers. older demo, traditional outlet.

I can't believe how anyone can still defend Tidal at this point. It's not even about whether these free streams will count for the charts, the biggest problem is that their reported numbers are fake to begin with. They have done it to TLOP, Lemonade, Anti, 4:44 etc. The first week numbers they reported for these albums are unrealistically high given the amount of users they have. Every single Tidal user would've needed to stream those albums in full multiple times in order to reach those numbers. Tidal is a certified scam.

@iHype. @Superpower  Jay Z reported cumulative 1st+2nd week Tidal streams to Billboard in the second week of release, therefore the huge week to week drop (72%). :michael:

Sis you're still trying it with the false narrative? :toofunny3:

We all know damn well if it weren't for HDD exposing them like that again they wouldn't have bothered to do this to protect their image. It's too late for them either way.

She will keep trying since she loves Beyonce, but we all know she and her husband are a total fraud. :fan:
