MTV Video Music Awards is on august 27th.
Taylor's Lead single is coming for sure at least one week before.
So Despacito DON'T break the Mariah's record and Wild Thoughts never going #1!
izi.

Despacito has not peaked in radio yet, right? It's almost its tenth week atop. This is so going to break that record. Not even sure if Taylor can debut at #1 with such a mega hit.

It got one negative update but according to some atrls it's "done" I can't with this site. It's Monday a negative update on a Monday is normal. :rip:

They can't stand the fact that pop girls are over. They just want their faves to succeed. Despacito is a smash and deserves to break the record.

What's going on with Maroon 5's latest album? :toofunny2: "Don't Wanna Know" was released 9 months ago, and "Cold" just fell off the chart. Where is the album? :deadbanana3:

i'm surprised stay didn't go a few spots higher as it felt like the consumption was notably better than here.

dunno about US, but for Youtube Stay (Lyric) is her biggest video by 45%, on Spotify it's her biggest by 28%.

Too much competition. The entire top 5 were #1 hits at one point. :rip:

Wild Thoughts will become the second blocked song of 2017 after I don't wanna live forever.

True, but Forever didn't have that much staying power. Wild Thoughts is spending a lot more time near, but not at, the top of the charts. Bruno Mars and The Weekend (have) also spent months near the top, but each did sneak in one week at #1.

What #2 peaking song had the most points? I assume it was Thinking Out Loud, but I may be wrong. I know Uptown Funk broke 800 points in its peak week, so I wouldn't be surprised if TOL hit 600 points stuck behind UF.

what does everyone think the #1 song of 2017 will be? shape of you or despacito?

Shape Of You has spent 26 weeks/six months in the Top Five. Many of Despacito's 26 weeks were actually below #40, so I doubt it has time to overtake SOY. I could be wrong though, as I have been before. Thrift Shop had a time lead over Blurred Lines, so in 2013 TS was #1 and BL was #2. Also remember, if it hadn't been for the surprise inclusion of video streaming into the Hot 100, TS would've had 11 weeks at #1, as it had a huge lead in sales, airplay, and ODS, almost double of the song below it.

At this point, I think that Radioactive (despite peaking at #3) is a bigger hit than Blurred Lines.

To put into perspective how big a hit Radioactive has become, it is the 3rd best selling single in the digital era (8,179,000), ahead of Party Rock Anthem (8,100,000), and only behind I Gotta Feeling (8,800,000) and Rolling in the Deep (8,600,000).

Radioactive has sold 80,000 this year, and that's better than many 2014 and 2015 songs, and even some 2016 songs.

Billboard actually considers Real McCoy's "Another Night" as the biggest #3 song of all time. Although Radioactive had greater longevity overall, AN spent 11 weeks at #3 and 23 T 10 weeks. Radioactive "only" spent 20 weeks in the T 10, though it spent 30 weeks in the T 15.

@simmnfierzig Where do you think "Sorry Not Sorry" will debut base on 3 days of sales and streaming + 2 days of airplay?

It should get 6 days of Airplay, no? Doesn't Airplay run Monday-Sunday?

Yeah, I forgot about that, sorry.

Does Slippery have the chance to enter to the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100, though?

What do you think of it, dear @simmnfierzig? Huh?
