Sylar Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 P!nk has more top 10 hits than Britney, Katy and Gaga? How is that even possible.

Her career predates Katy and Gaga by nearly 8 years. As far as Britney, she would probably have a handful more if her label weren't stingy with releasing her singles to retail stores. @Eternium could tell you better than I can.
Rawr Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Katy about to snag another top 10 next week though rise was robbed

Eternium Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 1 hour ago, Sylar said: P!nk has more top 10 hits than Britney, Katy and Gaga? How is that even possible. Britney suffered from a lack of physical singles and poor radio support. Sometimes and Lucky would've both hit the top 10 with a physical release and Stronger would've, too, had its single come one week earlier. She's never been big on radio (she's one of the only popgirls without a radio #1 single) and so when Clear Channel boycotted her from late 2001-early 2004, she struggled to even chart. At that point, her team only released 12" and remix singles. The only other two top 10 singles she missed out on, Work Bitch and Make Me, would've just needed a video in the first week of release. Tldr: She had strong sales power and even streaming power, but radio ruled the charts and she didn't release singles.

Now I can get them day of release. Finally. it's always either been the top 75 or the top 50, so stupid. but I'm so happy it's now showing the entire h100 for everyone now. stupid idea for billboard to restrict canada's own charts to showing only a certain number of rankings when billboard is literally the only company running a canadian hits chart

Smh Does it really matter whether Tim McGraw by Swift was a flop or not. It was a terrible song name, still went platinum, and she was pure country back then which usually isn't as successful as pop singles. The album still sold over 5 million in the US and sold like 10 million singles while Rihanna only had one more single from that album and if didn't go platinum. Taylor started becoming more and more pop over the years and she started having more and more top 5 hits until she essentially was pop on WANEGBT going #1 since it was easier to be a crossover hit which Rihanna had been doing since the beginning. Taylor "officially" went full pop on 1989 and we saw just how successful she is as a pop artist by having 3 #1 singles and 2 other top 6 singles. So all in all, if Taylor started in pop she wouldn't have "flopped" with Tim McGraw but there are reasons why she did flop to some people and she has proved it is essentially irrelevant whether she did or not Now I get it

Rawr Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 it doesn't matter if it's a feature or not. If the person is credited on the song they deserved the recognition. I wish katy did more features
