To be honest, Inside Your Heaven / Wasted / See You Again are all probably real close as their last updates were in the 900,000 range.

Lmao @ Taylor having classics, classics on atrl don't count as actual classics.

Can people just shut the **** up with this "Taylor doesn't have classics" garbage. It's just completely wrong and makes me really angry.

it's because they can't come with facts so they have to resort to delusional stuff that can't be proven objectively.

@Erreur2 La Nature And you know that this is a thread about songs that have sold 1 million in the United States and not some random ass country., right?

I fail to understand why you think your bias and ignorance, because of where you live, makes it okay to be upset about Taylor being #1 on a US list. You thinking she doesn't have classics and is way less successful than Gaga, Britney, Beyonce and Adele is extremely irrelevant and not linked at all to this list of songs that have sold 1 million in the United States of America.

wooo go in :jonny:

Adele is really close to getting her 11th million seller, with When we were young at ~940k now. However, it may not even reach 1 million given its current weekly sales and the overall state of digital sales and wouldnt surprise me if apple closes down itunes in a couple of years tbh

how many singles did Taylor release?? i've heard that she's sold number of album tracks over 1M pure sales.. Wow that's really amazing.. considering she's an album artist I think her grabbing the record of most 1M seller songs in US for a female is really IMPRESSIVE.

If that's the case, then Taylor has only had 2 big eras only, as well :ace: since before Red, all of her success was extremely local, the same way the 19 era was local to Adele in the UK only. Nevertheless, 19 has sold 7,5M copies WW, from which, 3M copies come from the US, that means she sold 2.5 times more outside the US, which for your information is a higher average than what any Taylor album has sold outside the US. And if we use the UK as the base, then the ratio increases A LOT MORE since she sold less than 3M of 19 there.

And regarding the touring department, 25 is only Adele's THIRD era, and with this tour, she CRUSHES any tour by Taylor. But, again, I would like to see the receipts for Taylor's Third Era Tour... I mean, they surely obliterate Adele's current tour, right? :ace:

I'm not from the United States and Taylor Swift was completely unknown where I live before Shake It Off, released in August 2014. And I'm pretty sure this was the first time she really had a hit outside of the US, which also explains that I've never ever heard her old stuff and never tried to listen to it since I'm not a fan of 1989's music. Also, a song doesn't become a classic in 2 years and a half, Simmnfierzig.

Also, if you think not knowing an old song from an artist that wasn't famous in the rest of the world is something serious that should forbid us to talk, it shows how short-sighted and biased you are.

Next time you're trying to prove a point, do some researchs and avoid humiliating yourself this way. Bye !

The list is for songs that sold 1 million + in the US. Saying Taylor Swift doesn't have a classic in the US when you are not living there invalidates your opinion. Stop being delusional.

Exactly. GP only know Shake It Off and maybe Blank Space, but that's all. She's really strong on US, major music market, btw.

This list is for the US, so? Love Story, her first crossover hit, is a classic. You Belong With Me is also a classic. Shake It Off, and Blank Space will surely be classics. 22 to some extent is a birthday classic.

So in your opinion, a classic has to be famous is only one country in the world ? :ahh:

Classics are known absolutely everywhere, by everybody. Taylor doesn't have that yet. :ahh:

I couldn't care less about "US to world sales ratio". Where your sales are coming from is absolutely irrelevant.

19 and Taylor's debut era were pretty similar in size. 19 sold a bit more albums, and Taylor Swift had bigger singles.

But yeah Adele is bigger in the sales department, just not by that much.

Taylor grossed 191M with tours from her first 3 eras. As far as I can tell Adele is below that with around 170M:celestial5:

And Taylor then grossed 150M with Red and 257M with 1989 :celestial5:

I'm not so sure if Adele can go up like that, but maybe she can.

And I'm usually all for comparing number of eras, but when Adele takes 3-4 years between albums... You kinda have to take that into account too.

Love Story is famous in a lot of countries.

And there are 0 songs in the history of music that are known by everyone. Exactly 0.

Oh, dear, Adele is bigger in the sales department BY A LOT... Let's not forget that 2ALONE has sold more than Taylor's first 4 albums combined :toofunny2:

Adele is around 170M right now, because her Oceania + London dates have not been added, when they are, her total gross will be over 250M... :celestial5:
