I would personally prefer Sales (which would also include physical single sales, ringtones/ringbacks, video single downloads, and maxi-single sales [both downloads and physical] at a significantly stronger multiplyer; listed as "other singles sales" in the below formula) at 40%, streaming at 40%, and radio at 20%. I think all formulas should include airplay, but to a lesser extent than it does today. Here's how I'd calculate the metrics, though like BB these would change at times to adhere to the given proportions: 1 download = 300 streams (ODS & Non ODS) 1 download = 1500 impressions 1 download = 0.05 other singles sales I would also reduce the SEA and TEA part of the BB 200 by 50%: 1 album sale = 3,000 SEA (still ODS only) 1 album sale = 20 TEA 1 album sale = 0.5 other singles sales (not currently included) Of course, I would change the H 100 recurrency rule to 50/26/-4 with only one week of gains needed for reentries, and I would eliminate 25/52 altogether. I can't talk about how I'd recalculate the metrics without discussing the revisions to the overly aggressive recurrency policies.
UNNAMI Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Kygo & Selena song will be quick lil hit on U.S. and probably something big on Europe. And it will be big in Europe because of him
Rico Shameless v2 Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Maybe I'm looking too into it but seems a lot collabs have been co-billed lately. Makes me wonder.
fridayteenage Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Maybe Katy Perry & Skip Marley would be doing better.

I've been wondering the same thing. I think it has to do with labels being paranoid about flopping so they want their artists to collab to boost numbers, and the artists only agree if they get equal billing?

alexanderao Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 It Ain't Me's #3 ranking today ties The Heart Wants What It Wants for Selena's highest daily Spotify peak. Needless to say, it's a really encouraging sign for her. During the Revival era, SOL reached #9, HTM #6, and GFY #5.

Kygo has had some of his songs chart in the Spotify top 30 here, but only because of heavy playlist promotion. Those songs (Stole The Show, Firestone, and Stay) all had extremely low airplay and poor sales throughout their entire chart runs– in fact, Firestone was the only one of those three to even make the Hot 100, peaking at #92. So this is even bigger for him.
Torturo Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Can someone link me that site for Pandora charts?
wish Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Selena's growth has me shook. The song just keeps growing.

Hector Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 1 minute ago, Torturo said: why isn't LOTB there? Because of this dumb rule from their site: In order to ensure that the chart is not altogether static, we've introduced the concept of sunsetting. Research has shown that the ideal number of weeks a track should appear on a chart is 16 weeks, with some exceptions. This allows for a careful balance of unique tracks on a given chart, without running the risk of retiring tracks prematurely in the event that they continue to increase in popularity. Tracks that are on a "hot streak" are exempt from the typical sunsetting rule. Hot streak refers to any track that has not yet reached its peak rank and spin count at 16 weeks. We want to capture music on the rise, so these tracks will remain on the chart past the 16-week sunset so long as the song has reached new heights within the past two weeks. So Love On The Brain basically went recurrent after 16 weeks on their chart.
