Be confident, delete "thought" from your statement.

It's so great to see how Katy manages to differentiate love in real life from the faux internet outrage. Having 20,000 people cheer you on every night, showing their admiration and nothing but love, is worth 100,000 times more than some dumb internet article no one cares about after 24 hours

They had to give out an formal apology so they are accepted again. Just like how Gaga apologized for working on 1 song with R Kelly and deleted that song completely off her discography. In this case, it was a speculation until it's proven guilty, while Katy worked on a full album with Dr Luke after he was exposed as a rapist.

The contradiction is this one post alone lol. Saying R.Kelly was "speculation until proven guilty" and "Dr.Luke was exposed as a rapist" while there's only one of them in jail right now as well as prosecuted in 2002

How you all like to distorce narratives for what you want to believe. It's evident how the backlash is far beyond the Dr. Luke situation, since it becomed strong among gp after the space flight (about which people are so ignorant). It's not a mistery that many have used this to spread hate cluelessly and regardless any career-related conversation and have crossed the line over her family and her daughter. I know that many on here criticize her for a reasonable cause, but don't pretend you don't realize how toxic the backlash trends are. So the fact that she make fun of it is honestly the most healthy thing she can do. Thank God she handle it (I'm referring to the toxic hate) this way.

No self-reflection with this one huh

What self reflection needs to be had? The hate she's getting is extremely disproportional and you'd think she committed a hate crime

Her new album flopped, she can't dance and she went into space. People are upset at her for what exactly? Like none of this matters but people were oddly offended especially for the latter action when it doesn't affect them at all nor was it offensive to any degree

I think the humiliation ritual she constantly displays needs to be studied.

Interesting to see how she thinks she's done nothing wrong.

I'm glad she's having fun on her tour but this perpetual victimhood mentality of hers pretty much stops her from taking accountability for putting out a hot pile of trash with Dr Luke's WW and growing as an artist and as a person.

Exactly my problem with her. She always seems to insinuate people hate her to hate her and never seems to acknowledge WHY. It's very clear in her advice to Chappell Roan to "Ignore the comments" that Katy's way of coping with any hates she gets is to just assume it's blind hate and ignore it.

And so, she will literally never grow as a human or artist. She does not listen to constructive criticism as she just thinks it's "hate"

Potential hot-take, but many hate trains end up as a good thing in terms of promo

Katy does not get constructive criticism tho. That's the point. Rarely does any female celeb of that stature. They get hateful thinkpieces written about them in the media where corny journalists pick apart every single thing they ever did. Supplemented by tons of online hate posts made with the intend to cause them harm and boost clicks.

Would you be shocked one would suggest to just ignore that all together and focus on what's important instead? (like your fans)

I'm sure Katy knows this era didn't work out. Hopefully she learns from her own failures and mistakes to become better. But one thing she should absolutely never do is to live for external validation from the internet. The internet loves you one day and hates you the next lol. It's never worth it.

Yawn.

Why didn't y'all boycott Kiss Me More and other Dr Luke productions since then?

Yes Doja was contractually obligated to work with him, but y'all were not obligated to listen to the songs, if morals is what we preach.

The activism is so limited and selective, lol.

Honestly, preach. :rip: I love how they excuse it by saying these were bops. So you throw your morals out the window for a... bop? At least don't support any of his music. And yes, stop streaming Teenage Dream too if y'all care this much.

Katy really needs to get over herself. It's kind of wild how self-absorbed she is to think she's the most hated person on the internet.

I think she doesn't want to flop at everything so thinking she might be the most hated person on the internet feels like some sort of achievement for her

they've already gone over this.  They can listen to California Gurls cuz Dr. Luke didn't rape anyone yet.  But any music made after the rape is a no-go.  That's literally how they're justifying it.

Right? It's bandwagon nonsense that comes from people who are told what to think because they have no independent thoughts.

She's the way she is now because she became completely oblivious to everything, not just constructive criticism, and a big part of that stems from the Witness thing. Back then, she was being torn apart and laughed at for things that weren't actually wrong, just for being different. Whether it was the pixie cut, a shift in sound, acting cringe, or asking silly questions, she got dragged for it all. So now she won't acknowledge any real mistakes, because she became numb to public opinion at a time when she wasn't actually doing anything bad.
