I believe the main purpose of this rule was to deal with compilations/greatest hits albums as opposed to cases like this. 1

zach Posted Monday at 12:47 PM Posted Monday at 12:47 PM People acting as if there wasn't a clause or something in the contract for the feature to allow her to feature the song on her album too 3
americanlife Posted Monday at 12:50 PM Posted Monday at 12:50 PM Dua literally stole the song Miley's team better fix this 2 1
Ger Posted Monday at 01:09 PM Posted Monday at 01:09 PM The fact that Dua is either known for her fraudulent tactics and talented artists don't want to associate with (ex. Billie and Miley) or not known at all because she is somewhat faceless sends me. 2 4 2

It was released well before the album came out as promo, and was one of the biggest songs on the album post-release that kept the entire album charting. Dua released a deluxe edition of her own album and randomly added Prisoner to it, and it seemed like Miley wasn't given any say in the decision. The way streaming works, when two artists are credited on the same song but the song is part of two separate albums, all new streams go to the album with the most streams. So, all of Prisoner's new streams went to Dua's deluxe edition, resulting in Plastic Hearts plummeting on the charts and never recovering. Some time later, while Flowers was in the midst of smashing, both Miley and Dua were invited to a fashion show in LA with Donatella Versace sitting in between them. Both posed individually while sitting with Donatella, but never with each other, and both can be seen looking the other way in videos and photos. Fans have several theories, but at the end of the day, there is no way Prisoner would have been added to Dua's album without Dua's approval. She could have removed it last minute or even post launch from the album on streaming, but decided not to. At the end of the day, it's a Miley song (both from conception and sonically) that Dua basically stole. They now avoid one another and don't talk. Damn, I didn't know Dua is such a rat. I thought she didn't care like that with her vacations and all...

honestopinion Posted Wednesday at 05:32 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:32 AM (edited) The only skip of Plastic Hearts is this song so I couldn't care less about prisoner, and the war is so tiring. Even Miley's mom hugged Dua at the last Grammys and she would NEVER do it if they were actually beefing Edited Wednesday at 05:33 AM by honestopinion 1
