Love Drought Posted Monday at 06:43 AM Posted Monday at 06:43 AM She barely promoted the rest of the singles if I can recall. I'm surprised none of the songs on ESV took off considering how bland and appealing it is to Adult Contemporary Radio. The songs from her new album is a step up from ESV but the promo is all over the place. She should really host her own variety/late night talk show. Her music is very hit or miss but she's at least one of the few charming celebs in pop music rn. 1
Kiss It Better Posted Monday at 07:09 AM Posted Monday at 07:09 AM to be fair the only good single she released post Flowers was River, and Flowers was too big at the time (see: Rih's We Found Love cannibalized Cheers and You da One for example) 1
UnusualBoy Posted Monday at 09:40 PM Posted Monday at 09:40 PM She wasted her hype with bad single choices and let's be honest, she doesn't look like she's chasing hits considering her lack of engament during both eras

Sometimes, a woman of certain age gets lucky. Belive the album sold 10M WW and 4M in the US. Also Strong Enough was a hit following Believe. ESV album was a total flop. 1

ESV album was a total flop. Strong Enough peaked at #57 on the Hot 100. EVS had Jaded (#56), River (#32) and Used to Be Young (#8), received an Album Of The Year nomination and sold 4 million units worldwide, in the same range of albums like Chromatica or Joanne. It wasn't a smash but it's not a "total flop" either. OT: To be fair, "Flowers" did leave a lasting impact on Miley's career - it's her most global hit ever and she will forever be referred to as a multiple-time Grammy winning artist thanks to that song it did what it had to do. 1
DammnBaby Posted Tuesday at 03:00 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:00 AM There was no meaningful follow-up single on the album. Sabrina Carpenter pulled off what Miley sought to do. 1
Tayman Posted Tuesday at 03:05 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:05 AM She wasted the momentum releasing the big mess that is Doctor. I really thought this new album would be a new peak for her.

Iaintsorry Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Didn't seem like she cared to drag out the momentum? I mean she def could have done more to continue the momentum, but she didn't so it's pretty clear she don't give af
Polgg48 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago she'll have another hit by next 7-8 yrs, the female cee lo green
Blackout2006 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Didn't she win her first Grammy with it? It DID give her a career boost in momentum. 1
Pluto6 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Miley never had consistent success, she always had success at random times, and would then flop for years and then randomly have success again etc. I think her constant image changes throughout her career is the reason for her inconsistent success Edited 9 hours ago by Pluto6
naval23 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago It did though. Endless Summer Vacation charted for over a year on the Billboard 200, it's debut week outsold Younger Now + Plastic Hearts first week sales combined, scored another top 10 hit in the era that charted for 20+ weeks with "Used to be Young" 1
Romova99 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Do you guys expect every single song from her to hit #1 / being a monster hit just because she did it with Flowers? She can never reach #1 again and still be remembered and current in the industry. You guys should lower your expectations chart-wise and enjoy the ride, her latest song is beautiful I literally can't get ha out of my head 1
Sad Serenade Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I disagree. Flowers gives her career new wind, two Grammys and recognitions, more people in the new generation that stan/stream her music. She didn't get a #1 hit right after another but she's more respected and known in the industry and pop stan. 1

There was no promo by herself even for Flowers, let alone the rest of her music. Plus her music since has been really subpar. Doctor was terrible, and so was most of the album anyway. Plus she didnt tour at all, hardly any public performances bar the grammies. So she doesnt really have a built in audience at all... Used to Be Young was promoted everywhere
