Why is it so hard for some people to just sit and mind their business? I, personally, wouldn't have the energy or interest to go back and forth with a random person over nonsense—especially in public. It's not anything for me to just ignore someone and have them sitting there talking to themselves.

period, just spit on them a la new york and pumkin and go about your day

walked away in a packed subway?

It wasn't that packed, there was space to move away. I've encountered plenty of mento people on trains and I either just act like they don't exist or a couple of times I've gotten off and waited for the next train.

They both need therapy, but if that were me, I would have just stood there in silence and not even acknowledged her by looking in the complete opposite direction. The only way I would have engaged is if she got physical at any point. Remember: It's always much more embarrassing for someone to verbally harass you and say nothing back so they look like they're talking to themselves then it is to engage in a screaming match.

At this point, call out the bigots. I don't care who they are. If someone calls me a ****** it's open season for me to tell them exactly where they can shove their ignorance. People are getting a little too comfortable with homophobia these days.

What's most embarrassing is someone posting this, because this is just going to create some more homophobic discourse that extends beyond this one train ride and now you have thousands of people on social media who are saying they agree with the person that was saying the slur.

People are too comfortable getting into it with strangers period. As much in the wrong as she is, she's better than me. Bc if somebody were to get in my face like that it'd be lights out :bam:

I'm not watching that video.

However, I f**king miss the days when every interaction was not filmed and litigated on the internet.  Like let people have their little fights and then let everyone get on with their lives.

He got that rat together. You can tell she was internally shook and wasn't expecting him to out-crazy her:deadbanana2:

Honestly, the woman won. She was calm and collected and managed to make the gay guy look like a crazy person. Which is exactly what she wanted.

Lmao bunch of you calling out the guy who is CLEARLY responding to being called an F slur is beyond me. He has EVERY right to speak back to people who discriminate against him in any shape way or form. Y'all saying he should have ignored her are clearly living a privileged life without stress and can take **** from people, well some people are sick of other people being rude to them and them ignoring it. Y'all are clearly too comfortable about homophobia and that will only make it worse for all of us.

It means if someone uses a derogatory/phobic slur towards me I will absolutely speak my mind. Before this year I probably would have ignored them. But ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away.

She was absolutely in the wrong dropping the f slur, no ifs and hows about that. But him screaming at her at the top of his lungs in a crowded subway car gave unhinged. Just say **** you ***** and move on.
