To stick to it long term sure, it requires you to want to be sober. But I'm talking the first step, which in the case of suicidal or drug addicted individuals is usually not that pretty and often requires intervention to drag them out of a spiral so they could think clearly.

Hillsong seems like a place you can go if you want to "fix" whatever problems you have, internally in Hollywood, instead of risking that people getting actual help, and halting their career, which means no more $. Or risking people spilling dirt on other celebs and Hollywood people. Definitely cult-y. 

 

It's very sketchy how they took in Justin Bieber after he spiralled the first time, told him that having a wife and kids would fix his problems, set him up with some random nepo baby nobody, prayed the problems would go away, and that his public image would be rehabilitated so he could continue his career. Idk who introduced Justin to Hillsong, but it was someone that was worrying about his own pockets, not Justins well-being.
