Roberto Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Katy and bomb together in an affirmative sentence will never surprise me, tbh. 3 hours ago, swiftawaywithme said: No. Teenage Dream singles were a picture-perfect playlist. The rest of the album--like her discography--fails to make a significant splash. TD is an awful album, even some singles (LFN) are bad. She did a great job with such a mediocre material tho. 1
TedMiracle Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Isn't as bad as The Fame (Monster) > Chromatica LMAO 1 6

I'll give you Artpop (but even that had at least one successful single), but Joanne and Chromatica are certainly not flops. Each had at least two top 20s, something Katy hasn't had since 2013. Chromatica even had two top 5s! Joanne and Chromatica are FLOPS. Point. Blank. PeriodT 1 6

dumbsparce Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The saddest thing about Katy is that she didn't manage to build a reliable fanbase that could keep her relatively afloat once the hits stopped coming. She keeps trying to recreate TD without realizing that a) we grew up and b) 15-20 year olds in 2025 are not into that type of fantasy, especially if it's coming from a 40 year-old That's why she and Gaga will never be boatmates. 2

SharGaga Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Not really. I've always seen her as a one trick phony. Beautiful girl with an upbeat personality, a voice that works well with melodyne and fits perfectly with catchy pop songs. But underneath there there's nothing of real substance to make her stand out from her peers. In a way she was a great vehicle for these catchy pop songs to thrive but without the people BTS doing the heavy lifting the hits stopped coming overnight. I've always felt like she oversells herself as a songwriter and hasn't been an authentic one after her debut album. Just radio bubblegum pop that has aged horribly. Not that I ever was a fan to begin with. Edited 10 hours ago by SharGaga
MonsterNavy Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago no she's never had a good solid album. she's always been talentless, corny and tacky everything just looks 10000x worse now that she's 52 4 1 1
Pop Fan Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Katy and Gaga are birds of a feather, two massive flops tanking together! Edited 9 hours ago by Pop Fan Grammar 3

Smarticle Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Let me stay on topic, unlike others in this thread bringing up Gaga, and say no i'm not surprised! 3
Jay07 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Not really. I don't mean this in a rude way but she's never had a great album and she did really well with what she had. 1

Compared to Gaga who had at least one big hit and one moderate hit per era?
sciencemagic Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago (edited) the way the Katy Kats in this thread are going back to my posts about Katy from 2021 to react to them instead of streaming Ms. Perry's 3 flop albums (as a reminder: ½ of her discography).... I have to laugh Edited 7 hours ago by sciencemagic

burninredhot Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago @Prodigal Self You don't have to downvote my whole post history just because I called Gaga a flop (which she is undoubtedly) 1 3
FabForAThrowback Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 8 hours ago, sciencemagic said: What am I not supposed to believe? I'm confused I mean, honestly I don't see the point of the thread's title. Most artists have also commercially bad eras, yet Katy's peaks are really high. I think the problem of Katy's last underperformances is mostly limited to US due to the bad image gp has of her. I understand her style isn't all's cup of tea, but other than that I always find the critisism about her exaggerated and biased.

And half of Gaga's discography is also flop/bomb katy is not the only one Actually Gaga has 0 flops. If the standard for flopping are witness, smile and 143, Gaga doesn't have a single studio album perform that badly I guess I can give u Harlequin - Gaga's jazz album for Joker which did bomb as bad as those 3. But it's still not enough hihi 9 hours ago, Walk_Away21 said: Her discography aged infinitely better than Lady Gaga. Even if 143 (and half of Smil) is absolute unlistenable garbage. dzwiekolubny Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago imagine calling Witness a BOMB it underperformed compared to her previous albums but it didn't even flop lol
Solaria Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago 11 hours ago, ArtForFreedom said: She's like Christina in my opinion and failed to evolve and used the same old producers or trending ones. She is also a woman over 40 now and lets be honest we all know how that goes for the majority of pop gals Put some respect on Legend X ha name Christina has experimented far more and took way more risks than Katy ever could.
Katy.Kat.23 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Why do people think that just because Katy flopped harder, that means that their fave hasn't flopped like you really think the average person remembers Joanne or even Artpop? two things can be true at the same time. Like Meghan Trainor's last album or Kesha's Gag Order both did worse than 143. Does that mean Katy's last album was a success? Edited 5 hours ago by Katy.Kat.23
