Carrie Underwood 'honored' to perform at Trump's Inauguration

I bet if Britney was not retired she would do some dance number for him too

Idk if you shade her often or if this is just a random comment so forgive me if it is, but she has never voiced support for Trump or MAGA and is literally fleeing to Mexico to get away from the garbage country she grew up in. Sometimes it feels like people keep trying to project things onto her so they can justify their dislike of her. She may have a weird Instagram and do a lot of weird things but a racist beige MAGA mom she is not.

I wish more people like Trump and Elon did what Britney did, go to therapy be a bit weird and take some time out to work on themselves instead of literally tanking our entire society because of their unresolved trauma. I would much rather see them spinning in a SHEIN bikini with a TEMU ring light than ruining the world in pursuit of their black hole egos.

As for Carrie are we surprised? Country music is sadly way too interlinked with white supremacy these days. Just look at how they treated Beyonce. Even progressive artists perform for dictators for the right price, I just don't think we should look to these people as role models when it comes to ideology and politics. It's as stupid as expecting football players to somehow be role models for kids when they are good at playing with balls and that's it.

If she had come out as a hardcore republican a decade or more ago, I would've actually been a little shocked. Today, though? Not surprised.

Not to say it all goes back to a man, but it is true that ever since she got with her husband (which was also more than a decade ago), she's been testing the waters on, like, letting little glimpses of right wing viewpoints slip, and her husband is very public about being a hardcore conservative. We know this is who she is, and who they are.

I used to be a casual fan, but I've stopped following her these last few years because something about her now is just off. I also used to ignore the (many) accounts of her being not so nice because her first few albums were fun and I bopped, but knowing what we've come to know about her in recent years, they're all likely true tbh.

Oh well, not too hard to stop steaming someone you…haven't streamed in a long time. :rip:

Yawn unsurprising. She was always a Republican, I remember her participating in that Obamacare drag back in CMA 2013.

I guess this should be a lesson to STOP putting celebs and faves on the pedestal for their "political views" for all we know, the same fave that posts in her socmeds to vote for a particular candidate will be laughing all the way to the bank with all the Trump tax cuts she's gonna be benefitting

I see a career resurrection for her because if it backfires, then it's gonna be even worse for her considering her core audience

This isn't surprising. That anti-vax rant back in 2021/2022 about "protecting our kids" was all you needed to know she was a right-winged, evangelical bimbo.

P.S. good on that man for cheating on her ass all them years ago

Not surprised given her collabs with Jason Aldean and Cody Johnson (who are both conservatives)

Don't see the need to listen to her again

This is shocking, but yet again, Kelly Clarkson has always been the first, best and most iconic American Idol winner :clap3:

She much like Mark Z are pandering to maga because that's where the power will be for the next 4 years (probably more)

It's insane how she's remained (mostly) apolitical for all of these years, and it's this moment she decides to join in. Must really adore Trump... she probably thinks God told her to do it.

she really couldn't help herself and sold out her LGBTQ fans who usually have money for the BROKE, and soon to be broker, maga base - may all her stylists, makeup artists and other creatives in her life drop her dusty @ss

Kelly is not a secret republican, she's very much public about it lol

But yeah, she's an anti-Trump one

you know I think at one point, yes she identified as a republican, but then she became a libertarian (I remember her endorsing Ron Paul at one point and praising libertarian stances) but since then has become a democrat. she's had a full evolution, @MissedTheTrain said it best here:

She's performed at Obama's 2013 inauguration, has only ever spoken badly about Trump, she hosted Jill Biden's first televised interview as First Lady, and frequently covers trans stories on her show.  She's made it pretty clear where she stands.

:cm:

as a REALLY long time fan of hers—she's one of my BIGGEST vocal inspirations as a singer myself, and I find her to be underappreciated in the realm of singer/songwriters—I will be critical of Kelly in certain regards, but when it comes to her main political beliefs, I know for a fact she swings left. so if you wanna drag her, there are two things right there^, but saying she's a right winger would be categorically false. I also admire how she's one of those celebrities who isn't afraid of being held accountable and who isn't afraid of changing their opinions as they mature. it shows how genuine she is :clap3:
