Blinding Lights' longevity on charts and spotify already are insane, but DWAS is on another level. It could end up between 3.5-4b streams by the end of year. It could surpass BL in 2026 as the biggest song on Spotify. 
 

idk if it could surpass BL on Hot 100 though. But I can see it to be one of the biggest Hot 100 hits. It hasn't reached its peak after almost 5months. We still have the Grammys and album release which could give the song a third wind.

But honestly I wouldn't mind, I usually never like huge hits like this as much as I like DWAS.

DWAS, BOAF and Espresso are much bigger than Tipsy song globally, and even in US Tipsy song was mostly carried by radio.

And the former's still gaining 10 million streams per day.

Well it's just spent its 105th day at #1 on Spotify Global (Blinding Lights spent 83 there iirc) and it's spent over 90 days above 10 million unfiltered streams (more than BL). The DWAS MV is also probably going to surpass BL sometime this year too despite Youtube being much more dead for Western artists now than it was in 2020. It currently has 517 million views (BL has 895 million) and DWAS is still gaining 3.5-4.5 million views/day. According to kworb, Blinding Lights gained 287k views yesterday.

And what about it? In the end, what matters is overall units and longevity over years, it's never outselling BL's total units  

 

The song is not even THAT big in western markets (including in the US), it's just some Asian countries making up for it.

The good thing is that in streaming era there will be more and more songs that will become as big or bigger as this so they will get dethroned at some point so it doesn't matter at this point… kinda overhyped overrated "Biggest Wednesday "

I believe it; but I guess these biggest song of the decade lists made by Billboard and other publications will favor songs like Tipsy once again for staying at #1 for so long. That damn track stayed for the longest time on top.
