Subversive Posted Saturday at 07:48 PM Posted Saturday at 07:48 PM I'll never forget her revealing that she had to fund her intial Froot photoshoot since the label didn't really get the vision. Exicted for a new record--Ancient Dreams is still on constant rotation 3
hypnodemiluv Posted Saturday at 07:50 PM Posted Saturday at 07:50 PM i need her electropop bops and ballads! queen!
l3disko Posted Saturday at 08:14 PM Posted Saturday at 08:14 PM I have a good feeling about her next album. Hopefully she moved on from her Sociology 101 mindset and has something different to say. 2 1
Joesuxx Posted Saturday at 08:18 PM Posted Saturday at 08:18 PM A whole as decade since her last good album? No wonder this one's self funded 2 3

igninton Posted Saturday at 10:12 PM Posted Saturday at 10:12 PM I'd say I'm excited if I didn't know how non existent her work ethic can be.

She went to make one social theme song into basically the whole eras and with a boring aesthetic and shallow meaning songs

Sawk Posted Sunday at 01:03 PM Posted Sunday at 01:03 PM She's declined with every single album except the last, but it wasn't even that much better than the previous TFJ > EH >>> Froot >>>>>>>>>>> L+F < ADIAML (imo) I really hope she bounces back, her earlier material is miles better than the Self Help Yoga Shtick she's been on recently I have faith she can return to form, the woman who wrote Numb, Obsessions, & Buy The Stars is in there somewhere
SpaceOddity Posted Sunday at 03:17 PM Posted Sunday at 03:17 PM Her being independent will either lead to a sharp 180 of the way she is seen as an artist for the last ten years, meaning she'll actually aspire to deliver something fresh and new. Or, no label politics and expectations signaling that she'll only dwell further into the corny hardcore-millennial mode of badly written Natasha Bedingfield pop.
BlackAura Posted Sunday at 03:23 PM Posted Sunday at 03:23 PM Yea, she needs to serve us another FrOOt. 1

I would hope that she wouldn't carelessly throw around descriptions like that after the backlash of L+F which she's acknowledged of several times over the years. One thing's for sure, Chappell basically took her formula, elevated it and made it modern so thanks to her, a second wave of popularity for Marina IS possible, she just needs to sharpen her artistic skills and pay attention. 2

TFJ has *so* many skips, and EH was just straight up iconic. 1 1 3
