Hard Candy is a good Madonna album

Just re heard the record today and it was solid! ppl always clown it as being her first horrible album and they say Confessions was her last good album but that's just not true. Hard Candy was solid!

4 Minutes, Miles Away, Dance 2 Night, Beat Goes On, Candy Shop, Heartbeat, Devil Wouldnt Recognize You & Voices  all AMAZING records that could have been hits with better vocal mixing imo. I suspect the mixing on her vocals was bad cuz these were not singles. 4 Minutes was mixed well.

It's in my top 3 Madonna albums along with Bedtime Stories and True Blue.

Gays do the most when it comes to Madonna albums, especially post-Confessions

It's actually my favourite Madonna album

Devil wouldn't recognize you alone :jonny5: it's such a underrated song and my favourite Madonna song of all time

If it had come out before loose and future sex love sounds it would have been considered ahead of its time and people would have loved it then. I think if you go back and relisten, it holds up really well

It's an amazing album that sounds better each passing year, her only bad album is MDNA and even that has like 5-6 good to very good songs :coffee2:

The only ones who talk trash about Hard Candy are the gays with attachment issues to Confessions :santa:

I think it gets better with age ironically since it was critiqued for sounding dated upon release. It's not my favorite but I do like how on a lot of the tracks there's some great breakdowns like on Incredible and She's Not Me.

It's her best album post confessions imo. Spanish Lesson, Heartbeat and Miles Away are amazing. People got put off with the album cover due to ageism and the lead single felt a bit trending chasing but it was still good.

Really the only problems are the mixing and some of her delivery but if you get past that it is indeed a solid album

The album is really good; fans just dismiss it because it came after "Confessions On a Dance Floor."

Hard Grammy is really her best album in my opinion. It's no skips for me, even Incredible and Spanish Lesson which most people seem to hate on.

It's bop after bop :loud:

irocnically, while i find the production on Confessions to be amazing and ADDICTIVE AF, I also find it to be one of her least emotional records ever. Like it almost has no character in it. It just sounds great (which is cool and good) but like it gives me no personality imo.

Hard Candy, while flawed (especially with some of the lyrics and vocal production) at least FEELS like a Madonna album mess and all lol. Confessions feels like it was a needed course correction for her and helped solidify her as the female artist with most longevity etc but it just feels too polished at times. I like her messier or rawer work

its one of her best albums :heart2: from the late 2000s and 2010s/20s. it all went downhill after that although rebel heart has a few bops

Miles Away is incredible.

I feel that. Confessions was TOO polished for a Madonna record because it was so cohesive. I believe this is probably from her letting Stuart take over most control. Either way, a legendary album.

Hard Granny, you can just tell she had her hands on the soundboard.

NOT Hard Granny omg :skull: :ahh:

but yes exactly! while Confessions was insanely cohesive it deff took away some heart and soul from it!

I personally like Hard Candy more than Confessions, which I find really overrated and not as good as people hyped it to be when I explored her discography for the first time back during COVID. Madame X is also a good album imo (actually one of my favs with Erotica and American Life).

That was me. I did buy the album and listened to it, but couldn't getting into it.
Will give it another try after this thread's glowing reviews for the album.

The only bad thing about Hard Dolla is cover art and overall execution with album booklet :gaycat2:
