2ne1 and SNSD both having 2 mil + monthly listeners 11 and 8 years since their last proper eras says a a lot. SKZ have a huge fandom but they'll probably be a tvxq or super junior type in terms of being remembered for their music.

Why are you as a non korean worried about whether Stray Kids are popular in their home country or not, when they still managed to become one of the biggest kpop acts of all time globally

this has to be the most unintelligent post in this thread :rip: you genuinely sounds like an imbecile NO SHADE

This is the US iTunes chart in 2012. This is before streaming and this was BY FAR the most important album chart in the entire world at the time. You could only ever buy an album ONE time on iTunes too, there were no streaming farm or bulk buy workarounds here.

Heavy Bold "One Album" for these Gen Z kids. Let them know! We don't bulk buy in this house… unless it's I Got a Boy 9 versions👀… or EXO…

To be honest I didn't like Loose that much, I mean, it was okay but I was hoping for a hoe anthem so it was a bit of a disappointment but anyway, excited for En-Chella in just one week!

BTS and Black Pink are the only groups that can truly claim to be on a totally different level to their 2nd gen counterparts, and even then its only because of endless media play and sajaegi to prop them up and kickstart their careers in the west, something that would have NEVER happened if Sone did not make the west into a viable market for kpop to seriously expand into.

to act like groups like TWICE, Stray kids and NewJeans etc. aren't on a different level in the West compared to 2nd gen is just delusional worstie, sorry.

And also, 3rd gen are the result of the global audience and the new wave of Kpop fans we have today that 4th gen groups are now benefitting from.

For example, I Personally, got into K-pop thanks to BLACKPINK. At the time, no other group even came close to making it onto my radar. From there, I explored more and ended up getting into new groups and stanning groups like Stray Kids and TWICE etc.

NewJeans were definitely on track to be on that tier. I have literally never heard a normal person mention Twix or SKZ though. I'm a Twix fan too so its really really not about being shady or delusional. Twice are on that level in Asia but not ww, and if we're counting asian popularity then my stan list takes a wrecking ball to even BTS.

And this happened because sone were in the trenches telling our friends that we listen to Korean music in a country so xenophobic that it tried to rename french fries into freedom fries. The endless spending on western marketing for BLACKPINK that included collabs with Dua, Cardi, Selena, and Gaga would have never happened if there wasn't a proven kpop fandom.

Anyway thanks for another excuse to rant about SNSD's countless achievements and untouchable impact. It's the thing you're best for. Stream the greatest song ever recorded.:fan:

You guys are letting nostalgia get to you, cause how can you downplay SKZ or TWICE's numbers in the West and at the same time trying to make SNSD happen over there :rip: THE DELUSION

We witnessed the rise of bulk buying and spotify fraud so we're good at detecting it. Please stop setting up legends TWICE by putting them next to a group that literally nobody has ever heard of.  :cm:

SNSD peaked changed all of kpop and literally started a new Hallyu wave. That's not nostalgia. They really did that.

Meanwhile on planet earth, aespa has much better longevity on every relevant western chart both with albums and singles than your favs.

The way this is an entire genre of boy group that falls off a cliff once they hit twink death and somehow new generations of fans keep getting duped into embarrassing themselves and all of the other kpop fans by putting them on a pedestal. :hoetenks:

also not comparing aespa and stray kids' daily streams when aespa only 84 tracks and does 4M while stray kids has 300+ and does 9M :rip:

we know and no blink is saying this. pluto is just inserting bp to this conversation to win cause bts, twice and stray kids combined "paving the way" isn't something anyone would take seriously :toofunny3:
