Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff were retrospectively added to the writing credits for Olivia's song Deja Vu after it was thought the bridge of the song was too similar to Cruel Summer.

 

A lot of people have also noted Chappell's song My Kink Is Karma bears a lot of resemblances to Cruel Summer. I'm confused as to why Taylor has seemingly let this instance of plagiarism fly, whilst getting 50% of Olivia's writing credits for a similar situation.

Because Olivia herself said that she was "influenced" by Cruel Summer for the deja vu bridge, which would be a huge point against her if Taylor/UMG/whoever were to sue her

Yep. She also didn't credit Paramore. Sometimes you don't know you're copying something until the internet points it out.

OT: I think she is not doing it because she would get an image of always attacking or using up and comming pop girls. Also as somebody else said Chappell would call her out for it unlike Olivia.
