Starfish Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 For example if Kesha, Foxes, Gracie or Beyonce were on the track would it still be a big hit or a significantly smaller presence? 3
dussel_06 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Lisa from Blackpink could've done it and it will still smash worldwide. 2 1 13
hypnodemiluv Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Honestly yes, Bruno and his label invested so much for his comeback. APT, DWAS are all part of this plan and are pushed to our throats and ears with all medias. It's not a secret. 5
enchanted0 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Ofc. Actually it would've been bigger if it was with other artists 3 3 17 4 35
Kh-Loud Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) We will have to wait for Bruno's first solo lead single and compare it to DISEASE's performance for a better and more accurate conclusion!! LIDDOS have alot coming for them; they just don't know it yet!! OP: You know how many SMASHES Bruno has gifted UNKNOWN ARTISTS? how many #1 smashes did he give the ANDERSON dude in SILK SONIC? Nick_317 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Ava Max could've done it and it will still smash worldwide. 4
Prodigal Self Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Quote LIDDOS have alot coming for them; they just don't know it yet!! that is NOT normal behavior.. OT: probably 2 9
sugarysunflower Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Ariana, Billie, Rihanna or Adele would have still done greatly 1 2

How did Bruno's label invest into DWAS when it was released under Interscope and Gaga was the one who wanted the song out? APT is the lead single off Rose's album. Bruno was simply lucky that both songs smashed, his label did not do much. 19 3 1
Popular Post Badgalbriel Posted December 29, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2024 No. It would've sounded like any other romantic ballad. Gaga gives it personality. There's a reason why her dancing was what went viral first on tiktok 41 2

Helix Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 tbh I sometimes ask myself how huge the song would have been if he asked the other vegas chanteuse a.k.a Adele to record the song. Since Bruno wrote All I Ask for her I always wanted a collab between those two anyway 1 1
Mikeymoonshine Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I think it depends. Part of the appeal of the song is how well they harmonise together plus Gaga wrote parts of it so a different version with a different artist would sound at least somewhat different. Plus Gaga has had success with this type of adult contemporary stuff before. People like her vocals on ballads like this. I do think artists like Adele, Beyonce and maybe even Ariana could have done something good with this song too though. 13
PerfectCure Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 No and it's time to suck it up once for all. Gaga's ability to turn slow songs into hits that wouldn't have had a chance to become popular otherwise has been proven time and time again, starting as early as 2011 with Yoü and I (a country-rock ballad who got solid airplay in a sea of recession electro pop). DWAS is not any different, it's a hit thanks to Bruno Mars AND her. However, I feel like it could have had bigger chances to hit #1 earlier had Hilary Duff sung it with Bruno. 4 1
sunbathinganimal Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 yes it would have smashed harder with Björk 1 4
ChooseyLover Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I'm not sure. It's what both and their teams/labels brought to the table what is making the song a huge smash. With another high profile artist, though, maybe it could have been a hit as well. But could it duplicate its longevity? Unlikely.

Just remember people were disappointed in DWAS Spotify debut numbers and called it a flop on arrival Also Rosé sent Apt. to Bruno and did never expect him to actually jump on the song. Both collabs pretty much came together by surprise. And if it really was a marketing plan all along then heads up to his label to achieve this. I know a few female singers who couldn't achieve even 10% of the numbers these songs pull with ten times the amount of promo
burninredhot Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 It could be even bigger with someone like Adele for sure cuz that song matches with her signature style 1 1 1
Popular Post Infernal Paradise Posted December 29, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2024 Making these hypothetical "woulda coulda" scenarios to escape reality is so funny and a next level cope tbh The reality remains unchanged that DWAS is Gaga's song (just as much as it is Bruno's), it is their combined chemistry, musicianship and vocal talent that has made it one of the biggest hits of the decade so far and it isn't slowing down anytime soon going into 2025. Anyone upset by this fact can seethe in silence 7 15 2 1

I love gaga but did you really listen to DWAS and think this song wouldn't be able to smash without gaga? It's a basic ballad with an amazing chorus and a lot of replay value, in what world wouldn't it had a chance to become successful? And the whole first minute is sung only by bruno anyway Edited December 29, 2024 by Helix 2
Sergi91 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Yes. Even Xtina would've been a better choice. 1 2 4
