Anvarie Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago After 27 million+ Americans were dazzled by Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter halftime performance this past Christmas it got me wondering if there is a single artist (living or dead) who has put on a performance that could compete with the excellence Beyoncé executed. The criteria is simple. Post a video of a live performance that you think demonstrates the traits Beyoncé showcased: vocals, choreography, stage presence, stage production, etc. Clips that I think highlight those traits mentioned above 1 2
Popular Post Capris Groove Posted 19 hours ago Popular Post Posted 19 hours ago (edited) She lip synced the majority of it. The below shows why Tina Turner is the greatest female performer who ever lived. Born to do it. 61 years old here, 100% live, dancing her ass off, but above all, dripping with charisma and always connected to the audience. Edited 15 hours ago by Capris Groove 13 2
l3disko Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago The performance was lip synced and much of the stage production was recycled from previous performances. 4 1
Underdogs Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Beyonce has had much better performances than this one with more complex choreo, more energy and live vocals and thus more representative of her caliber as a performer. She was on autopilot for this one compared to Glastonbury, Coachella, VMAs etc. 2 1
Tusk Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago It was just her Coachella performance in a white leotard. 2

This is such a great example of what a great performance is. Big choreography, stunning stage and outfits etc. can NEVER touch a performer who is actively engaging with the audience and evoking emotion with their VOICE. And I don't say that to dismiss Bey, she is a legend in her own right and I'm not entirely familiar with how personable she is with a crowd. I'm sure she can do what Tina does, but I'm not getting that from the OP. 1
Trent W Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago She's not at hear peak anymore, but still no one currently comes close Her stage presence alone is unmatched 1 1
Thor Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago You can't be the "greatest performer alive" (lmao) when your mic is almost always turned off pls 1 7

Great stage presence, acceptable vocals, production was nothing special, and the main hit against you is that absence of choreography. Unfortunately Beyonce has put on much more impressive singing/dancing than this, including her recent halftime show 1 1 1 4

We really don't have talent like hers anymore 1

on the line Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Yes. Pretty much any main pop gurl VMA performance from the 2000s. 5
kataraqueen Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago yea she's pretty great anyway, these hold a special place in my heart and mind I like them for various reasons Idek who else does the ton of back up dancers thing. Janet I believe but I can't find any good footage for her performances; the camera work all sucks. Kpop groups have that sometimes but lowkey they don't do special performances, and if they do, they don't really hit lol these were really cool in recent times: 3 2

NOW Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Other than her idols (MJ, Madonna, Tina, etc.), no. No one today would even have the guts to do the type of setlists she does on a global stage btw, and she's done it multiple times now and still results in one hell of a show. Everyone else is chained to their old pop hits. 5

Tina was like no other. and she wasn't even in her prime here yet she still put on shows that the other performers can't quite match. 2
