I'm getting dislikes but no replies to my quote. You can't call yourself a progressive if you side with Elon over Trump. The split was obvious from the beginning. Both bases have different priorities (libertarians vs econ populists). They just hate the left and are united by their social conservatism.

 

With this in mind, this is probably an unpopular opinion but I aint siding with Elon's fascist ass over MAGA. MAGA's economic concerns have valid legitimacy but very very wrong solutions. Tech bros have nothing but contempt for ordinary working people= the real evil.

 

If Democrats have half a brain, they would court the alienated MAGA base, especially in the midst of this inevitable split + Trump's last term. But I doubt they have the foresight to do so (as shown by their decisions in the past decades).
