Obviously the song is always going to be an immortal Christmas classic, but I think we'll continue seeing more competition for the top spot. At least, I hope so. Gonna be a little boring if every Hot 100 record is eventually claimed by one song. I wonder if Billboard will eventually change charting rules. But not before it reclaims her record for longest running #1 1

Its moment is coming next year Yes, after Brenda had her cute moment last year Wham! is up next year AFTER Mariah breaks the hot 100 #1 20 week achievement. Mariah can clear her 19th and 20th week late Nov/early December. From there Wham's team needs to eat up the playlist, pay radio, get the 50-11 discounts and remixes out there to claim the last two weeks of December 2025 and then Mariah can return again but after 20 weeks at #1 it won't matter how many more weeks she gets. Yes, for My Only Wish this year clearing 5.8M she's slowly rising

kellebrity98 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Underneath the Tree becoming this big of a modern classic is very impressive, good for her 2

I think it's just the natural cycle of things that her song eventually gets surpassed and other Christmas songs get their time in the sun. Rockin got its shine in Christmas 2023 (although it seems like Mariah held her off this year in the US). Eventually I feel like Jingle Bell Rock and/or Last Christmas could get their time to have a moment. In a couple years, could also see STM & UTT coming for #1.

I feel like it never was one of the most popular Christmas songs (at least outside the US) like 10-15 years ago, but now it's up there with AIWFCIY and "Last Christmas". EDIT: I looked up 2017 stats on Christmas Eve for comparison and yeah, Brenda's song gained massively over the past 7 years: In 2017 it was… 1. Mariah - 8.1M 2. Wham - 6.5M 11. Brenda - 3.2M (only 9th highest Xmas song) Now it completes the trinity with them. I feel like most of these songs aren't necessarily known globally - 99% of these streams come from pre-made Christmas playlists that people just mindlessly put on. 1

Mariah has re-uploaded the extra festive version of AIW which was combined with the original 3 years ago. The re-upload did 414k yesterday. AIW's combined total is 25,3 million.
genio Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I feel like Last Christmas became my all time favorite Christmas song this year. It was always AIWFCIY before, but ever since playing the live version of LC from 2006, it became better than any other xmas song tbh. It was always my second favorite before. So, I'm happy to see it being so close to #1, maybe it can have the top spot for itself for a couple of years. Also, very happy to see Ariana's Christmas songs in there and STM. Kelly being so close to 15m, they deserve it for their great tunes. Also very glad to see Santa Can't You Hear Me being received so well for a third year in a row, almost 6m streams is crazy. Another fantastic holiday tune. Sia and Britney slaying as usual. Celine's O Holy Night getting a new peak with 4.5m streams! Definitely one of the best Christmas records, ever.

Lightbringer007 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Mariah, Wham!, Ari and Kelly smashing yep! Merry christmas everyone btw!

The gap did shrink, but not by as much as people insinuated. AIW also has its remix from 2000, + several live uploads. Only the biggest version streams are talked about here. The fact that the deleted Extra Festive version which had 42 million streams at the beginning of the 2020s when it was deleted... was re-uploaded is big news. This version was doing 800k-1 million in its own right in the days leading up to Christmas 3 years ago. Now it's back and it will grow to its former heights in no time - which will make it harder for the main upload to keep increases percentage wise.
Blade Runner Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Didn't break Fortnight's record. Not even Christmas is bigger than Taylor Swift. Damn.
Carrie-is-no-1 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago not the daily stream destroyed some of the girl's debut numbers
Roberto Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) So, will the numbers be better tomorrow? Or is this probably the peak? Edited 13 hours ago by Roberto
