Beyoncelovesme Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Caution! Hands down! it's a totally new sound for her that brings her into the current musical climate. That's not to say her old music is dated, but Caution just effortlessly reminds you that there's no other Mariah Carey who can do it like Mariah can! The way Timbaland and her created something unique that mixes her vocal instrument and updates it for the newer generations that may not be familiar with her work but who I'm sure will have that on replay after listening the first time. Stand out tracks: With You, Giving Me Life, The Distance, 8th Grade and Runaway!

Gyal Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago This is honestly one of the best things I've taken the time to do - she's so talented and has written so many beautiful songs, with amazing vocal performances. though Mariah is very successful, she's actually underrated and should be a lot more well respected.
Blanket Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Self titled then choose any of her other 90s albums and go from there
AlanRickman1946 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Most hard core fans who know the deep album cuts don't like Emancipation of Mimi, they find it too shout-y, they call it Screami.
theweekend Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago very hard to do lmao I would say start with #1's or #1 to infinity then you can go through daydream, butterfly, TEOM or E=MC2 although charmbracelet is my favorite it's not for everyone to start with it.
Lose My Breath Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Honestly, just start at the very beginning and work your way through. Her old music is much better than some of her newer stuff.
LastGreatBloodline Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago are you familiar with her hits? If you aren't, #1s or #1 to infinity might be a good place to start. Then Daydream -> Butterfly -> TEOM -> the rest in order
Truth Teller Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Ok, you start with Daydream. That's the quintessential Mariah album where everything came together. Vocals still at her prime, great combination of all 3 of her most established styles (sugary pop songs, soft r&b and ballads) and contains 3 of her biggest hits and some of her most adored album tracks ever. Underneath the Stars and Long Ago are precursors to Butterfly (her best album), so if you gravitate towards those, move to Butterfly next. If you like the more upbeat pop stuff like Fantasy and Always be My Baby, move to Rainbow (don't @ me lambs), Emancipation and E=MC2. If you like the power ballads, move backwards to Music Box -> Emotions -> debut. If you like the softer ballads, go to Butterfly
Funnyfatty Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago My first album was Caution. Since then i became a fan. I don't visit it that much but i know that its a fantastic album. You can try it. Charmbracelet is super cute. Heavily underrated. You got me, lullaby and the one are the best tracks on the album. TEOM is also one of her bests. Circles, Fly like a horse and We belong together are career highlights. Butterfly is good but i think it might be heavy for you. The lyrics are too deep and she really plays a lot with her voice which shocks me a lot tbh Fly Away, The Roof and Breakdown are my top 3
joehyche Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago EMC -> Mariah Carey -> Daydream -> Butterfly -> Rainbow -> Charmbracelet -> EMC2 -> Memoirs -> Caution -> Me. I Am Mariah.
MoonGoodandHappy Posted 36 minutes ago Author Posted 36 minutes ago I listened to her self titled album and Emotions and EMOTIONS WAS SO GOOD. My favs are "and don't you remember", "can't let go", "emotions", "make it happen", "you're so cold" and"till the end of time". Can't wait to listen to Music Box 1
